NHL Teams coming home from a road trip.

Question

NHL teams coming home, off a road trip of 3 games or more, are winning at a 55.6% clip (49-39). Not so impressive. But if you break it down to favs and dogs, here&#x27;s what you get:&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;when they come home and are favs: 43-22, 66.1%&#xD;&#xA;when they come home and are dogs: 6-17, 26 %&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;I will be tracking this for the rest of the year. Also, i hope to backtest this system for the last two seasons. The next play is today on New Jersey.

Lipps, are the win percentages running higher or lower than the norm? I&#x27;ve just recently started to follow hockey, so your knowledge is welcomed here.

New Jersey -130    favs44-22    dogs 6-17&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;No plays till after the all-star break. First plays will be on Feb. 3 when Ottawa ans Nashville come home. In the meantime, i&#x27;m going to backtest the numbers from the last two seasons, as well as NBA stats.

In the past the team coming home from a 4 or more game road trip has been a good fade. &#xA0;Of course you shouldn&#x27;t do it blind, but it&#x27;s a great place to start

Reality is i don&#x27;t have enough hockey knowledge to be sure, so i ran the numbers. Looking forward to seeing what the last 2 years look like.

Something else, from what I recall the team coming home that has a losing record was an even better fade by far

If you just look at a teams record quickly you may think a losing team actually has a winning record
