Question

A majority of handicappers believe in betting a set percentage of your bankroll (1%, 2%, etc.).  My question is what are the recomendations for when to reset the bankroll size for the percentages?  For example if you stick to a 2% bet for all your bets, is it 2% of whatever your bankroll is for the season regardless of if you bankroll is up or down at that point for the season.  Or do you go with 2% of where your bankroll is sitting that day, that week?  Just want to hear your thoughts, thanks.  I hope the way I worded it makes sense.

I do it from day to day. I have been fortunate enough to be having a good season so my bankroll has been doing very well. I like to bet like this because it compounds which make you bankroll grow. Down side is a losing streak. Play it smart and you should be okay.

Hi jdack,I have always acted like this, I never play more than 3% of my bankroll and mostly play 1% and 2% bets.When your bankroll either increases (let&#x27;s hope so!) or decreases by 50% you can change your bet size according to the new total you have to invest.I guarantee you that 50% sound a lot but to me it happened in both ways, so it is possible.Just don&#x27;t play too hard and don&#x27;t chase and be a smart handicapper and you will be ok.Cheers

I agree with the others here.  Your choice of either 1-5% stake per bet or flat betting same stake per bet.   When bankroll increases, stake increase.  When bankroll decreases, stake decrease.  One option is to adjust stake size when new level or plateau is reached.
