Been betting for a few years now. Have learned alot but if theres one thing I learned is that I have a lot more to learn in order to be successful for long term. Just wondering if theres anything that "every sports gambler should read" kinda like a John Wooden book for coaching. Anyway would really appreciate some good advice from some of yall who have been doing this for a long time and actually know what your talking about. Not the majority of people on here who act like they do.

There are several books out there, depending on what sports you like to play. Personally, I'm a numbers man...I love using stats to give me an edge. One book that gave me a lot of insight recently when designing my baseball system was "Mathletics" by Wayne Winston. He focuses a lot on MLB in the book but also shows how you can use stats to tackle NFL and NBA too. A great read if you're into stats and using them to give yourself an edge. For some strange reason, I have yet to hear anyone talk about this book, even though it provides the best analysis and breakdown of the Base Runs/Runs Created formula that I have ever seen.

Hey, Mr. Jones. I like "Sharp Sports Betting" by Stanford Wong, published by PiYee Press.It gives you a pretty good overview on how to bet on sports effectively, with an emphasis on the NFL. Wong shows how to evaluate and test systems and provides some valuable data as well as insight from a real guru of gambling.

not a "coaching" type book but def. a must read...its called The Smart Money, i think the author is Michael Konik.....its about billy walters and his computer group....amazing true story
