I gotta be honest, Im not seeing a whole hell of a lot to bet in these round of 16 games. Chances are that my biggest bets are behind me - unless something pops up like England vs Argentina.....

49. Uruguay / S Korea - Uruguay -.5 90 mins -105 (1 unit) - I really dont love betting teams to win in 90 when there is extra time and PK's to follow - but I do think Uruguay are a cut above the Koreans - and peaking at the right time. Uruguay has yet to concede a goal in their three games, and have looked organized and dangerous up front with Suarez and Forlan. If Suarez could shoot straight, they might have had many more than their four goals - they always seemed to get him the ball and he didnt do very much with it - but I dont expect that to continue - Uruguay is a side that should be comfortable knowing that when they get chances - they should finish. S Korea looked great against Greece, and equally as bad againt Nigeria. The disciplined side was torn apart by the athleticism of Nigeria, and although they managed a draw - it could have been worse. I just think Uruguay will have chances on net in this game - and I will take my chances with them finishing them in regular time. Not in love with this - but do think there is some value in it. Final score prediction Uruguay 2 S Korea 0 (90 mins).
50. USA / Ghana - USA to advance -115 (2 units) - I hope Im not betting with my heart here, but I really think Ghana is a side that the USA can beat. The reason is Ghana is very similar to the USA - prone to defensive lapses - but the major differences is finishing in the final third. Ghana has scored 2 goals - both of them on penalty kicks - but had numerous chances in every game (so many against Germany) but they lack the quality last touch to ever get the ball on net. They are prone to the defensive lapses - but only let in 2 goals in their 3 games against some decent offenses. They are fast, big, and physical - and young - and the inexperience and pressure might just cost them at critical times especially as things heat up in an elimination game.
The USA finally came to their senses and benched Onyewu for Bornstein - which brought immediate payoff. Yes - Algeria still had to much space and too many chances on goal - but at least the defense was closing down on the ball and not shading back 5 yards on everyone - the reason we gave away so much in the first 2 games. It is still a mediocre defense at best - but I will take it - if they start Onyewu I will feel sick before the game even starts. I do also hope Bradley moves Dempsey up top to pair with Altidore - who I have felt has been lost up there with the revolving door of partners they have provided him. Dempsey scored the lone goal against Ghana 4 years ago - and is a proven finisher.
I would shade the USA in a PK shootout - not only with Howard in net - but with a very young and inexperience Ghana side against them - which is why I like the "to advance" bet here. Final score prediction USA 2 Ghana 1.
