   Bit of a surprise

First player since Toto Schillaci back in 1990 to win the best player award without playing in the final

Although Forlan had a great tournament so congratulations to him and anyone who backed him at a pre tournament best price of at least 100/1

He deserved it and I am glad the awards committee acknowledged his importance to his squad and weren't bound by finishing position.

He without question deserved it. Didn't think he had an ice cubes chance in hell at winning it but I'm certainly glad he did. He was so valuable to his team and seemed to be the only player in the WC who could handle this ball like he'd played with it for years

the biggest that i saw was +1600 after the third place game he was +3300 before the third place game
