Thanks all. Too many to thank individually....
There are some days that everything not only wins, but goes exactly according to plan - this was one of those lucky rare days when that happens.

21. Spain / Croatia: Croatia played a great second half against Italy. They made some very subtle adjustments at HT that I only picked up when I watched the replay of the full game - but they effectively took Pirlo out of the midfield by just marking him all over the pitch. Pirlo was the engine for the Italians in the first half - and the Croatians were able to equalize through his removal.
But Spain is Spain - and just outclasses Croatia by miles. As I have discussed here previously (see Spain vs Ireland preview) - I believe that Spain play best when they have BOTH width and depth - apparantly del Bosque agrees with half of me. He has relented to playing Torres up top - but I do feel like it is still incomplete for them - that they need Navas or dedicated wingers on both sides to give them more width. Torres did create the space up top which led to them thrashing Ireland - but Croatia is much better on defense than Ireland is - and I just am fearful of the 20 yard Spanish blob again that wants to pass it in the goal.
But the Spanish will win this game, I started betting it down at -120 and up to -140, and it just ran up to as high as -150. I still think its good up at those levels. Im going to post officially at Spain -140 for 2 units. Most likely result Spain 2-0.
22. Ireland / Italy: This is not going to be a very technical writeup - as I dont have many technical reasons for this pick. Ireland is something unique - they are not the Dutch and they are not Sweden. They will play as hard - if not harder - than they did in their first two games. Make no mistake - if Ireland pull off a draw here - there will be a celebration.
I love what Robbie Keane said the other day when asked about Irelands "disappointing" tournament so far - he basically said that sometimes you have to admit that other teams are more talented - but you fight on anyway. Ireland will dig in. Yes - we all know their players are not up to scratch - but they will not give up even down a goal.
Italy is not a multi-goal winning type of team. I can just see if they get up by a goal - just parking the bus by moving the 2 "wing" fullbacks back to the back and playing a 5 man line back there. I do think Spain will be winning their game - which will allow Italy to protect their lead without getting too adventurous.
So I am going to be on Ireland +1.5 -115 for 1 unit. Most likely result Italy 1-0.

First off, great picks today, was an awesome day!
About Ireland-Italy, I don't question the fact that the Irish will fight their asses off, they will play for their honour and to pay respect to their fans. But the thing is, it's not like they didn't win because of their lack of motivation, Ireland is a team that is always motivated, they will not come out flat. But they didn't win because they just lack the quality, energy can only do so much, they gave away some huge gaps in defence.
Also I don't really think the Italy coach will play defensively if Italy manages to get ahead, he'll want a sure lead to avoid a last minute equaliser. Anyways just my 2 cents, BOL.
