Im taking a flyer today on Benfica to beat Chelsea.
Since taking them to win at about +400 seems like better value to me than taking them to advance at about +500, thats where my money will be. The difference between those two bets is only on a 1-0 Benfica win in 90 mins - it would go to extra time and possibly PK's, and for that extra +100 I dont think it is worth risking it.
Im just not buying Chelsea yet. Benfica deserved much more in the first game. Hopefully it is an open game - the more helter skelter the better - if Chelsea is able to control possession and keep it tight - it will be tough - but if Benfica can keep it open, and get the opening goal - things might be interesting....

i agree with the play but I would say a helter skelter game favors Chelsea, as they have a hard time scoring on set plays and need that randomness.... If Chelea tries to hold the ball and control pace then they deserve to lose...

Why on Earth did they play their B team for the first game? And why would they do it again?
They feel they can't win the UCL this year (against giants Barcelona & Real Madrid)... so their focus has turned to qualifying for it again next year. They sit fifth domestically, and need to finish 4th or higher to qualify for next year.
They are still capable of fielding a solid B team, but they lack finishing flair without Drogba & Sturridge.

They're pretty far behind Tottenham for 4th place. Plus, Newcastle is neck and neck with them as well.
Doesn't advancing to semis in the UCL generate tons of $$$ for them?

Changing lineups is a tactical maneuver to throw off excellent coaching (which Benfica has). Skill sets change w/ diff personnel out there. Nothing to do w/ conceding defeat to an opponent (Barca).
