2026-27 ENG CHAMPIONSHIP PICKS

The season kicks off today, my picks start on Saturday.

SAT AUG 15

1. Bristol City/Millwall UNDER 2.5 @ 1.90/-111 (1u) Bet365

Milwall have has 5 straight games go under 2.5 where as Bristol have had their last 3 go under 2.5. Head to head wise 2 of the last 3 matches went under. Bristol City have signed a new keeper Sam Tickle from a struggling Wigan side where he remarkably kept 13 clean sheets. Neither side had a top scorer in the top 14 last season. The game also kicks off during the hottest part of the day in Bristol where they are expecting 27 degrees Celsius. 

2. Charlton/Derby to DRAW @ 3.20/+220 (1u) Bet365

Charlton are my pick to be relegated this season. Derby look like a middle of the pack side. Last season Derby won 2-1 and the other match ended level at 1-1. Once again given the heat in England at the moment I expect a slow match where both sides will not want to lose more then they would be going out to win. That recipe usually results in a draw. 

SAT AUG 22

3. Lincoln ML @ 2.36/+136 (1u) Pinnacle

League 1 champions Lincoln who last season had a +48 goal differential, 103 points and only 1 loss have their home opener versus Portsmouth. The visitors looked awful losing their home opener 3-1 to QPR last week. The imps were unlucky not to get anything in their opener at Middlesbrough. I made this game 2.00/+100 for the Imps once again backing the newly promoted sides early in the season and at home.

SAT AUG 29th

4. Charlton ML @ 2.15/+115 (1u) Sports Interaction

Charlton have starter their season with 2 wins where as Preston starter with 2 defeats. Both sides were beat down mid week in the EFL cup with Charlton losing away to Spurs and Preston losing at home to Everton. Preston will be without their best player Chelsea loanee Caleb Wiley with the American left back suffering from an adductor injury. Anything at plus money is value for me to the home side.

TUE SEP 1st

5. Sheffield ML+ Bolton team total Under 1.5 @ 1.80/-125  (SGP) (1u)  Bet365

6. Sheffield/Bolton Over 10 total corners @ 1.80/-125 (1u) Bet365

Sheffield United are unbeaten in their past 10 games. Bolton are going to find it hard to stay up in the Championship. They have failed to score a goal in 3 of the past 4 matches. With the transfer window now closed its fair to make team assessments for the first half of the season to start. Sheffield are focused on promotion where as Bolton are trying to avoid relegation. So far this season both teams matches average 11.3 corners. Last season Sheffield averaged 11.6 which was a league high and Bolton games averaged 10.3 corners per game.

SAT SEP 12th

7. Swansea/Burnley total goals UNDER 2.5 @ 1.96/-104 (1u)  Pinnacle

Form wise both sides have had 3 of their past 5 games go under 2.5. Their past 2 head to head meetings went under 2.5. Both teams are struggling to score with Swansea only managing 8 goals scored in their first 6 games where as Burnley have only managed to score 7 goals in their last 6 matches.

8. Middlesbrough ML @ 1.86/-116 (1u) Pinnacle

Middlesbrough did the double over Norwich last season winning 1-0 and 2-1. The home side have an extra day of rest and prep and have won their past 3 home games. Norwich are missing Ahmed, Topic and Mahovo where as Middlesbrough are pretty much fully healthy.

SUN SEP 20th

9. Wolves/West Brom total goals UNDER 2.5 @ 1.95/-105 (1u)  Pinnacle

Early time kick offs usually favour the under when it comes to goals. The last 2 head to head encounters ended under the total. West Brom has had 4 straight games ending under 2.5 goals and Wolves had their last 2 also end under the total.

TUE OCT 13th

10. Stoke +0.5 @ 1.94/-106 (1u)  Pinnacle

Stoke are 4th in the table and are in great form with 5 wins and 1 draw in their last six games. The visitors Middlesbrough have only 2 more points then Stoke. I had the match closer to a draw so getting double chance at basically evens is value on the home side.
