Thought i dodged the bullet with the missed fg by lockyer, then the captain sinks the ship.
Not suprised the toads went for the try with no time left, nothing new, they played the whole 80 and we didnt. Would have been a great comeback but wasnt to be, looked ugly for the first half but ended up being a entertaining game in the second.

Although he gave it all gidley failed as a captain and as a fullback at this level, at club level he might be a great fullback but obviously he is too slow to be the last man on defence in origin against the current canetoads, u clearly gotta see the difference between the two opposite fullbacks. Can't say he had a good game because not many players have the chance to lead a side in origin, he just wasn't good enough as a captain. Yeah he ran the ball well and made up the metres but just wasn't alert in crucial stages of the game when he was needed in the last line of defence, have a look at the second try by inglis, fuck even sattler would have of gathered him up, i'm not taking nothing away from G.I with the effort but I expect a better attempt by the captain atleast. Not saying he's slow but inglis has lost speed due to bulking up over the years and regularly caught by the opposing FB... 4 total tries this season for his club so far, it was clearly a poor attempt by gidley as a top class fullback. Than have a look at slater's defense on the line and his instincts as a fullback leading to o'donnell's fumble over the line, how can we compete. Yeah, i'm spewing brett stewart is out of the picture for now but u gotta agree like slater the bloke's alert in defense.

Big call by taking the penalty goal when we had qld on the ropes early, bad fucking choice, we're playing the maroons here not the fucking sharks...fuck the 2pts early in the game, keep attacking and take out one of their legs when given the chance, not to mention the standard conversion kick he missed after all that. Also his errors in the 2nd half were just comical, really with his form this year i thought he'll be the key man for the blues in this series but the nerves got the better of him. If the selectors decide to stay with gidley at the position for the remainder of the series, he better lose the nerves and be more alert for us to be competitive, we're facing the world's best backline here. Personally i'm not confident with gidley at fullback for game 2, the bloke's a quality player but lacks alot in the defending part of the game as a fullback, there's a reason why the knights are the worst defensive side in the top 8 atm. JT has exposed this both against the knights and last night in game 1.

Maybe i am, just expected great things from him as a leader. He has said himself that he let the team down with the silly mistakes, i might be harsh but i stand by what i've said, he does not belong at the fullback position in rep footy, he's just not a natural fullback. Mistakes like those cost players recall into the team, he's just lucky we don't have the luxury of choices as qld does.

A game and a half (3pts) isn't so bad for the bunnies, it was enough to stay at 9th on the ladder. Before last weeks shocker it's fair enough to say they have been competitive. Don't think the bye for the cowboys will help the home team either.

Very true, just feel that the underdog for this match wont lack any confidence with this current stat.

Cowboys were heating up before the bye, therefore the rest might have them fresh but might take'em a game to get it going again imo. It's all up to JT to work his magic and get his troops firing, never wanna doubt the man but i like the price with the underdogs.

Don't think they'll make the 8 either and if they bring their last weeks performance yeah absolutely they'll get flogged. There's a possibility the cowboys have a let down game also.

It just looks too easy to take the 10.5 with the knights in this one, im amazed it didnt open at 13.5 or more because of the knights home record atm. I might be missing out on another good pick here but i'll pass.
