The second best decision of my life was to retire at age 57. And one by one I watched friends and family members fall. The game of life is just no fun any more. Lately I’ve been thinking of doing the unthinkable. No, not that. Been thinking of checking out the Senior Center in town. You get tired of hanging around kids all the time. People your own age understand. At least I think they do. |

@I-Got-5-On-It Best case scenario would be a group of workers who all chipped in and scored the winning ticket. Now that I could get behind. Like 25 co-workers could say, “See ya!!!” to the boss who wasn’t invited to the ticket pool.

Unfortunately there is something sadder. The winner will have relatives crawling out of the woodwork like cockroaches. Then there will be countless sad sack stories about innocent children who need medical operations. All of a sudden the winner will realize that the burden of ridiculous wealth is not all rainbows and unicorns. |

@VinVortex You overshot the landing deck. GL A very simple way of telling the OP you read his thread, acknowledge & appreciate the content, and don’t have anything meaningful to contribute at the time, but maybe later and wish him luck. Bing, Bang, Boom, Done. So, you see the “GL |

Massacre at NYY. This team is getting smacked around like a pummeled fighter in the ring. Aaron Boone not going to survive another after-game. So completely overmatched this is brutal to watch. |

Most people in this thread would simply say, “No it’s not worth it”. I’ve been gambling for over 50 years and for me, I can say, “Yes it is worth it”. Everybody seems to have the opinion that, “It’s me against the bookie or casino”. Incorrect. In actuality it’s you against yourself! You either have the ability to restrain yourself from a prolonged losing streak or you do not. You either have the ability to press when on a winning streak or you do not. It’s really that simple. So, it’s not you against the casino. It’s you against yourself. The sooner you can look yourself in the mirror and understand that simple fact is when you’ll be a complete gambler. |
