@Puerta2Puerta How do you allow 55 stay in the game? Coughlin and Parcells would have him escorted to the locker room, packed his bags and gave him a plane ticket to the destination of his choice. |

Hello Covers Community. I have juice here with the Saints and I wanted to share a view for the 2nd half… Coach Kellen Moore, in the 2nd half, will pull out his Boise State playbook and open up a track meet for New Orleans. He doesn’t want to lose his first two games, at home, as a new coach. If he doesn’t, there’s always next week. Not. Good luck all. |

Hello Covers Community. Week 2 of the NFL season brings my attention to the Big Easy and an opinion. I am not a statistics guy, although I know all the teams strengths and weaknesses. I am, and always have been, a situational handicapper. I do base some opinions on line moves and opening point spreads. This week I post my strong situational reasons. The 49ers come off a road win in Seattle and now travel a loooong way the play the Saints. New Orleans lost their home opener last week and look to make amends for their fans as a home dog this week. So, do I side with a team looking to win two straight games on the road to open the season? Or, do I believe in the home team trying to avoid two straight losses at home to start 2025? The Saints play their next two on the road. The Niners are starting Mac Jones at QB. I’m gonna take the $$$ line on the Saints to win outright. Good luck all!

@CHIHAWK I’m not a shrink, but if you hang on to a bad loss…you shouldn’t gamble. Always have to forget em. Celebrate the good wins. |

Hello Covers Community. It’s a loooong season, so pick your spots. Here goes week 1…. Flying to Atlanta and picking this game between divisional foes for the first play. The home team is a slight dog here and I’m on them for the following reasons: The Falcons took both games versus the Bucs last year The Falcons play their next two games on the road, so this home spot is an almost gotta show up here The Falcons lost their opening game at home last year. Coach remembers and wants this W against his former squad. Always like the home team in a week 1 game versus a divisional opponent Good luck all! |

@takethecannolis I had gotten word before Tommy Jo’s first start, that she was really nice. Bet her good. Winner. I had watched Percy’s Bar run her first two races, betting her in second start. Winner. I was impressed by both fillies, but Percy was “different”. Tommy kicked butt and Percy ate her dirt. No shame in defeat, but I did take my foot off the bet pedal watching how a maiden winner was pounded at the windows. Still played Percy to win. Hats off to Pletcher who nets his 7th Spinaway. Off to the final two days at the Spaaaaaaaa…. |

Saratoga, race 11 the Spinaway, Saturday the 30th. I am more than impressed with Percy’s Bar after her two starts. Big field…anything can happen. I believe this filly is the real deal. Good luck all! |

I look at the rest of the team squarely on attitude. They all have game. But, who do you want on your side in a barroom brawl. The last guy I want is Cantlay. Just look at his prissy “I don't want to wear a hat unless I’m getting paid” attitude in the Presidents Cup. Ben Griffin began his final round at the BMW 7-6-4. My selections: Bradley Cam Young Chris Gotterup Thomas Burns Lucas Glover |

I had this horse on my radar since the Fall of 2024. Knowing people in the game, the trainer very humbly said he had a special horse. I want to again thank the Covers Crew for the kudos given this way for my Derby write up. For the Belmont Stakes, the pick is the same. Sovereignty made his trip perfect in Louisville because he was the best horse. Journalism ran really well in the Derby, but was second best. Journalism made a terrific move in the stretch of the Preakness, but was life and death to run down a longshot. I believe the trouble he encountered was because he was not good enough early to get position. Journalism is good, but he’s not Sovereignty. Can Rodriguez go gate to wire? I believe Mott’s charge can run him down. Sovereignty won at Gulfstream, one of the shortest stretch runs in the country. He won at Churchill, one of the longest stretch runs in the country. Saratoga is almost 64 yards further than GP. This guy is special. Wagering wise? I’m not getting the 7-1 from the Derby. Sovereignty owes me nothing after his win in Kentucky. If he is 2-1 or more…win bet. May also fool around with the undercard, leading up to horizontal possibilities with my selection. |

CD has a really good card today and it’s fast and firm. My eyes are on a colt in race 10, the Grade 3 Blame Stakes. Scratched down to a field of 7, I still believe I’ll get at least 6-1 on #10 Tennessee Lamb. Good luck all. Heading to Saratoga next week! |

Preakness 150 is on the docket this Saturday. I went through the PPs a few times. I watched replays. There is a race on the undercard that hit me between the eyes. The Maryland Sprint Stakes is absolutely loaded with speed. Whenever a track has a marquee day, it may be a pool table. First in, first out. I’m counting on a fair racetrack. If so… I’m interested in Ninetyprcentmaddie. He is the only entrant in the field that shows a good last 1/8th. One start back off a layoff that should sharpen him up. The entries for this Stakes closed the day after his return race and the owners dove in. Stakes placed in graded sprint. If the track is off, he shows a nice 48.3 breeze on off going recently, 2 of 16. Lastly, morning line of 15-1. Good luck all!

# 10 Nysos… Three starts to begin the career and not seen in 15 months. Each start won in a jog. Baffert just happens to pick today to bring him back. Still a colt. Does the Silver Fox want to show CD that he’s still got it? Could be a baby Flightline. The fan in me would love to see Nysos win by10. The bettor in me is putting a few sheckles on Banishing. Good luck all |
