Jockeys…Sofia Vives. Her parents have worked for Mark Casse for a couple of decades. She absolutely loves horses and when she gets on, the athletes understand.

Another jock…Samuel Marin. Years ago, I watched an apprentice try every race. On the lead. Off the pace. I spoke with him when he was injured. One day he was watched the races in the stands at Aqueduct. No one knew who he was. I did. Told him he was a terrific rider. Humbled, he thanked me and said “I pray to God that happens”. Irad Ortiz.

Marin has all the tools. Even more on the grass.

Samuel Marin just won a stakes race at Aqueduct. He rode first call for Chad Brown at Monmouth this summer. Winning at 20%

Sofia Vives has a 16% winning percentage in 2025.

Marin will be at Tampa for the upcoming meet. Pay attention to his mounts.

 Hello Covers Community. Here is an update for jockeys to watch the next few months…

Yetsit Hazlewood. Based in the mid Atlantic. This is a 17 year old, 5 pound apprentice rider, that began riding thoroughbreds when he was 12 years old. If you watch a reply of any of his wins, you would see the actions of a veteran rider. Winning at a 21% clip in 2025.
