This score was 5-3 in the top of the 5th. How did it stay under 10 with all the bum arms that emerged from both bullpens?

The Colorado Stooges fall to 4-24. They had an instant 3-0 lead and were never heard from again.

The 7-8-9 hitters for the Braves tonight are batting .500 (6-12). 

Before the 5th inning was over, everyone in the Braves starting lineup had at least one hit.

That 3-0 lead is but a distant memory. By the way, does anyone know why Rockies manager Bud Black continues to endure this? 

GOOD, Ryan Feltner stunk it up tonight, getting chased after allowing a two-out 2-run double in the top of the 5th. The Rockies had staked him to an early 3-0 lead, but he departed with a 5-3 deficit. 

All I wanted for Christmas is to see the Rockies finish 4-158.

Ryan Feltner has actually pitched well this season for the lowly Rockies. His only poor start occurred at Dodger Stadium where he hurt himself by walking six batters, including Max Muncy twice (that should never happen). That said, I don't fault anyone who chooses to send it in every day against the Colorado Rockies. They didn't even compete yesterday.

Whatever fight the Jets may have had in them entering the 3rd period was quickly removed after their sieve goalie allowed yet another puck to get past him. After that the team just quit, and I can't blame them for that. 

Eric Comrie. I can't stop calling him Mike. Kind of like how Hellebucyk can't stop sinking his team in the spring.

No, they didn't pull him, so he just let in another one.

I wish the Jets had heeded the advice I posted here on April 4th after Mike Comrie blanked the Golden Knights 4-0 in Vegas. I suggested that they should give him a playoff start on the road in Game 3 after they won the first two games at home. Rather than being complacent with a 2-0 series lead, the Jets would have been supercharged to help Comrie get a playoff victory. Instead Comrie got mop-up duty in Game 3 after Hellebucyk let the roof cave in. And today, another roof caved in during the second period.

Damn. Connor Hellebucyk really IS a postseason pussbag.

I once got to touch the Stanley Cup when the Penguins' Peter Taglianetti brought it Bowditch Field in his hometown (and mine) way back in the summer of 1992. I wanted to pick it up, but he was keeping a close eye on it as he conversed with others.

The 6 goals allowed by Connor Hellebucyk on Friday night in Game 3 was the most goals he's allowed in a game this season. Ten times this season Hellebucyk started the next game after the team allowed at least 4 goals in a game also started by him. Hellebucyk responded with a 1.90 goals against average in those 10 games.

I wrote "after the team allowed" instead of "after Hellebucyk allowed" because in SEVEN of those 10 games the team pulled Hellebucyk and allowed an empty netter. Then he'd come back strong in the next game allowing 2, 0, 3, 2, 3, 2, 2, 1, 3, and 1 goals.

I have to correct myself. The Jets lost 6-2 in Vancouver on March 18th. Two nights later they beat the Oilers in Edmonton in overtime.

I agree. By the way, the Jets are a perfect 7-0 over the last three months after losing a game by more than a goal. Friday's 7-2 blowout loss was only the second time this season the Jets lost a game by more than three goals. Way back on November 16th, they finished a road trip against the Panthers in Florida and were blanked 5-0. Three days later, they hosted that same Florida team and defeated them 6-3. Take that for whatever it's worth.

This is the most ridiculous defensive performance I have ever seen from an alleged major league team, and we’re only halfway through this game.
