Cade Smith is likely to take over as the  closer with Clase on leave.

Jacob deGrom team starts are   19-0 since October 2022  as a favorite of at least -140. Maybe will do a 2 team par with cleveland and texas tonight.

 Cleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase has been placed on non-disciplinary paid leave as part of MLB's sports-betting investigation, sources tell ESPN. Clase is the second Guardians pitcher on leave tied to the investigation, joining right-hander Luis Ortiz.

 A little surprised cubs are favored in this one although Boyd has had a great season.

Huge 3 game series starts tomorrow in milwaukee. They are tied for 1st place in the division and for the best record in the NL. And all of a sudden the reds are trying to make it a 3 horse race. Not going to make any predictions but obviously rooting for the cubs.

 The thing is arizona has become sellers and traded grichuk and naylor so i would be hesitant to take arizona against skenes today.

 Go on a 1-12 stretch and still lead their division by 7 games? Of course it's the tigers. Can the guardians, twins, or royals catch them? It will be interesting to see what moves the tigers make before the trade deadline as there should be a sense of urgency right now .
