Here we go!!!

Dustin ov Rory 1st round

Broken record play here.  This play is 3-0 in the fedex cup.  His last 13 tournament Rory has only 2 1st rounds under 70.  In his last 13 tourneys Dustin only has 2 1st round above 70.

Spieth ov Rory Full tourney

Spieth has a 1st and a 2nd place finish in the last 3 years here.  Rory has a win in the fedex cup, but also has a 31st and 42nd.  Spieth has been much more consistent with a 10th, 21st and 9th in the fedex cup.  Too much focus is on the win, and not enough focus on Rory's inconsistencies.  And this matchup has Spieth as an underdog.

Reed ov Matsuyama

Really surprised to get this matchup.  In the fedex cup Matsuyama has finished 24th, 15th, and a MC.  Reed has a 1st, 5th, and 13th.  Reed has a legit shot to win this tourney and the fedex cup championship.

Vegas ov Kisner

In the Fedex cup all of Vegas's finishes are better than Kisner's best finish.  Eisner has finished 48, 46, 39...Vegas has finished 22, 23, 24.  On a positive note, at least Kisner will have a shot to finally get a top 30 finish.

Forgot one

Vegas ov Charl Schwartzel 1st round

Charl has not been very good in the 1st round.  He doesn't have a round under 70 in the last 7 tourneys in the 1st round.  And in the fedex cup Vegas has shot under 70 in all 3 tourneys.  And to top it all of...Vegas is +120 in this play right now.  Fantastic value.

Thanks man...not sure which Vegas play you're referring too, but...

I feel like the books don't really make mistakes in football, but you can find mistakes in some of the fringe sports, and I really think the Vegas-Charl line is either a mistake, or there a lot of people out there that just looked at the line and thought to themselves..."Charl is way better than Vegas, this is easy money".  There's no way you can research the first round numbers and come to the conclusion that Vegas should be +120 and Charl should be -140.  It should be switched. 

As for the Kisner play...I don't quite get the line either.  Again Vegas at plus money when he's been playing better.  Even if these plays lose, they were absolutely the right plays.

Yep, agree on both.  Gotta look for the value in Matchups.  This one sticks out.  Vegas has been hot but is not a household name in golf.

Reed ov Matsuyama (full tourney)

BOTH "Samurai Golfer" AND "Fat Pat" are KILLING ME!!! got three tourney matches WITH Reed and three AGAINST Matsuyama for the reasons you listed, alangrrbs

STILL three rounds to go BUT it AIN'T looking GOOD!!!

It's a long tourney LeRink... but I'm definitely worried about Reed.  With this being the last tourney, I'm worried he throws in the towel.

For what it's worth, I have a couple rules I make for myself for golf betting.

1.  No bets involving Louis Oosstuizen.

2.  No bets involving JB Holmes.  

3.  Only one full tournament bet per golfer.  

I learned my lesson the hard way on all these rules.  If there's a guy I want to fade, like Matsuyama, this week, I only allow myself one bet.

most EXCELLENT set of RULES to live by, alangrrbs, esp #3. Only one full tournament bet per golfer. I do NOT know HOW many time I have gotten CORKED with multiple bets ON or AGAINST a golfer both PGA and Euro Tour this season but it has been a LOT esp this week with multi bets ON "Fat Pat" and AGAINST Matsuyama

"Fat Pat" completely disinterested which shocks me because he was 2nd in FedEx point coming in. the bugger is [+2] 2nd round for [+5] tourney thru #16 Friday

"Fat Pat" two birdies to finish his 2nd round [even] and [+3] for the tourney. hopefully he can get some "Mo" off that and shoot a "bomber" round Saturday
