DJ travelled halfway across the globe to play in AbuDhabi last week and the jet lag showed as round 1 was Even par. He got it going to finish 2nd at -16.
Now must play halfway across the globe to play in Torrey Pines against a rested Day who plays well here.
Reed Even v Fowler
Going with the jet lag theory and I think the sharper golfer.
Fowler was in AbuDhabi last week and now must travel. Not like Fowler lit it up finishing 35th at -5. Reed played well last week finished T12 at -13 down the road at LaQuinta.

somewhat surprised that DJ and "Rickei Tickie" are NOT playing the Qatar Masters this week. thought they might play all three Arab tourneys as the prize money pretty "fat"
agree with your take on Fowler BUT DJ KILLED it the final two rounds @ Abu Dhabi with [-8] and [-4] to get the T-2nd with Pablo Larrazabal. with these guys traveling on private jets I doubt there will be any "jet lag" for them. GOOD LUCK

Rat you're right about DJ killing it after round 1 but that's a lot of back and forth travel and Day has a better history here with a 1st and a 2nd the past 3 years

an interesting "to win" long shot this week @ Torrey Pines. Harold Varner III @ 150-1. shot a 3rd round 77 to miss the cut last week and has been "cut bait" his last three PGA tourneys BUT WON the Australian PGA back in December with a 9 birdie final round 65 for a tourney [-19]
can NOT believe I can get last weeks winner Hudson Swafford only -110 over that CHOKE Jamie Lovemark this week
looking at some others including Adam Hadwin -115 (2nd last week) over Luke List and Brendan Steele -110 (T-6th last week) over Charles Howell III BUT pretty much sticking to the Euro's this week
btw Adam Hadwin another "live dog" this week "to win" @ 80-1

Personally I don't think Hadwin can win as his final round last week while in contention does not engender confidence in him playing well in the clutch.
I like List in that matchup.
I wouldn't go against Howell either as he has a good record here and is playing well. Steele playing well too. I'd stay away.

Harold Varner "Da Turd" obviously needs to go play the Asian Tour. THAT is where he shoots well. bugger shoots a damn [+6] opener Thursday after having a opening [-7] @ La Quinta last week. the bugger either KILLS it or BLOWS UP. completely inconsistent

I don't bet to win tourney bets as I think it is a sucker bet.
Good luck with your Hadwin win bet. He played well today and especially impressive was that he did it on the South course. Most low scores were on the easier North course. I can't win right now and actually had a small play on Leishman round 1 even v Hadwin and lost. Leishman was -3 and that wasn't good enough.
Hadwin is 0-73 on PGA tour and I couldn't bet him to win until he does win one. Sort of like betting horses. A maiden who has had a lot of chances but never won, may never win.
Take Graeme Delaet. He may never win
Maybe it's a Canadian thing ... aye!
Nice round by Hadwin.

all of last weeks "top dogs" doing well after the 1st round. Rose leading [-7] BUT Hadwin 2nd [-6], Harman [-4] with Cauley and Steele both [-3] and Hudson Swafford [-2]. I actually WON a couple 1st round bets with Hadwin and Cauley. Charles Howell "Da Turd" went NUTS on Swafford with a 1st round [-5] SO lost that one also with goofy Harold Varner "Da Turd" who I chanced vs Rahm @ +135
NO real "fat" odds for the 2nd round ex for Varner +150 vs Rahm which I will NOT play. NOW watch the baztard come back with a "bomber". Swafford is +115 vs Howell again BUT I was bit by that dog one already
