I played in an outing at Winged Foot in September (hosted by HSBC Bank) and Jimmy Walker was the guest. He spoke at the luncheon following moring golf and he talked about how it was a very tough year playing through the debilitating Lyme Disease which he had contracted.
He said he was finally "feeling better" and looking forward to a better year.
He said he had no energy and couldn't participate in the rigorous training he usually did. Said he lost strength and was finally now feeling better and able to get back to his training.
I would say to keep an eye on Jimmy.
May be able to make money on him.
I bet him against Holmes in tourney small and rd1 against Bubba small.
If I see some good form return I will be betting more heavily on Walker soon.

Funny you mention Jimmy. He is definitely on my radar as one to watch this year. He generally loves this time of year and could have great value if he is actually healthy now. First round was tough but he will be one to follow for sure. Thanks for the heads up.

Jimmy was a top player and on Ryder Cup team not long ago before he got sick. He is coming around. last event he was T20 at The Masters. He is comfortable here at the Valero event as he has a home in San Antonio. He was T13 here last year. He won this event in 2015 (MC 2016).
This week Walker GIR are better than Hossler
Walker GIR 69:44% v Hossler 55.56%
Even though Hossler hitting more fairways (57.14% to 42.86%)
Hossler picking up strokes putting gaining 1.01 strokes per round while Walker is +0.145
Home cooking and sleeping in his own bed and playing on a course he is comfortable playing so I’ll try Walker RD3 -105 v Hossler.

Thanks Sacker. Based on what you wrote, I’ve been playing Walker in some daily matchups and had him to win the Players and also to finish in the top 5. The top 5 finish payed 40-1. Thanks again.

Good to see u hit Walker good. 40-1 is very $weet!!
I had walker small in some plays starting mid-tourney Valero and I’ve hit most but small. Stupid me should’ve gotten on board heavier.
Instead I’ve had some rough luck/picks on my heavier plays and gotta pay “The Man” after blowing up heavy on Louie v Grace and Stenson v Varner (RD3) this week.
I think there may still be $$ to be made on Walker until the books catch on that he is a Ryder Cup caliber player when healthy

I played Walker to win also, but It was Webb’s tournament. I think Walker may win one this year, I’m still riding that train. Must’ve been a nice outing at Winged Foot. I was at a wedding there once. Lots of history there.
