Gary Woodland ov Jordan Spieth

Last week we said something was wrong with Spieths putting, and we were right.  He couldn’t putt, and then Friday, his tee shots were all over the place.  I don’t care that he won here last year, I know what my eyes see, and I see a golfer who is in a funk going up against a rejuvenated Gary Woodland.  Woodland has a 7th, 12th, and a win in 2018, and he’s been better than Spieth in both tournaments they’ve played in together.  Woodland played in this tournament last year, and finished 5th so he’s comfortable with this tournament…I’m going to keep fading Spieth, and at +160 I love the value.

Kevin Streelman ov Bubba Watson

Lost a bet against Bubba last week, but I’m going back to the well.  Even though Bubba won his matchup last week, he wasn’t great.  Only finished 40th.  Bubba hasn’t finished ahead of Streelman in the last 3 tournaments they’ve played in.  The other thing is Bubba didn’t play here last year, played 2 years ago and finished 70th, and didn’t play before that in 9 years.  The last 2 years here Streelman has played and has finished 14th, and 17th.

Jason Kokrak ov Shane Lowry

Lowry has been terrible coming out of his big break in the off-season finishing with a missed cut at the Farmers, and a 65th place finish at the Waste Management.  Kokrak has actually been a little sneaky underrated in 2018 47th at the Sony, 8th at the CareerBuilder, and 31st at the Waste Management.  Last week Lowry didn’t have one round better than Kokrak, and was 9 shots worse over 4 rounds.  I just think Lowry is not in good form right now, Kokrak decent finishes at this tournament so I’m not worried about that.  Funny thing about Shane Lowry.  He’s listed on PGATour.com as being 6 ft 1, and 216 pounds.

Brandon Harkins ov Graeme McDowell

McDowell has been terrible recently.  In 2018 he has 2 straight missed cuts at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, and the Abu Dhabi Championship.  Not only that he hasn’t played this tournament in 5 years.  Meanwhile, Harkins is part of the group of guys coming off the Web.com tour, and they’re having early success.  Harkins missed the cut last week by 1 shot, but he’s been good leading up to last week.  25th at the Sony Open, 8th at the Career Builder, and 12th at the Farmers.  It also says a lot that the books opened him up as the favorite.  They know who the better golfer is in this matchup.

Outright...Kokrak-70/1

that kind of "jumped" at me when I saw it to. Perez +145 @ South Point Las Vegas pretty high for an early season tourney winner in Kuala Lumpur and 5th @ Sentry T of C. also playing Woodland +155 over Spieth for the reasons mentioned. I just hope Woodland does NOT do a Haotong Li and screw off this week after a big win

I took Harkins -120 as well... its amazing how quickly the odds have been changing lately (5dimes anyhow). Pretty much need to be ready to bet very early on Tuesday/Wednesday mornings from what i have been seeing. Several picks i made this week have already move 30 or more

I dunno about Perez...T29 last week and now he's gotta make the ride back from the Middle East...got a preggers wife at home.

Pat may have other things on his mind this week.

But I also disagree that Speith has left his game elsewhere, so what do I know.

I do like Rory's form and may spend a few dulcets on him v. JDay.

Fading the previous weeks winner was usually a good bet

you know THAT is TRUE. just look at Haotong Li @ the Maybank after his big win over Rory at the Dubai Desert Classic. was a CUT and looked BAD doing it. hopefully Woodland will be the exception this week

GOOD start Woodland [-3] over Spieth [even] 1st round. HOPE Gary keeps it going OR Spieth "blows up"

note: my Euro Trash former Duke Blue Devil Julian Suri with two other tied for 3rd after 1st round with a [-6]. Julian with 8 birdies BUT a double on #13. WON Made In Denmark [-19] last Euro Tour season and recently tied for 2nd @ Hong Kong [-10]. went off this week @ 150-1 "to win"

OK, WTF is a Ted Potter Jr.(OWGR # 246) ??? the bugger shoots [-9] 3rd round @ Monterey Peninsula CC for tourney for tourney [-14] tied with Dustin Johnson for the lead going into Sunday

AJLightning was correct about Woodland. 3rd round [+1] for tourney [-1] CUT to give Spieth a "walk over" win. DeChambeau [-2] for [-6] vs Chappell [-3] for [-5] and Perez [-3] for [-8] vs Casey [-1] for [-8] BOTH wicked CLOSE

my boy Julian Suri "blows up" with HIS worst round of the season [+4] for [-6] @ Pebble Beach to end my hopes for him. I still got an outside chance with last weeks 2nd (playoff) Chez Reavie [-5] for [-10] BUT 4 behind a Dustin Johnson it is doubtful. probably DJ's tourney to win 

OK is Ted Potter related to Harry Potter ??? a freeking wizard ??? THREE shot winner over DJ, The Mick, Reavie and Day. damn CRAZY

This is not the first time DJ has imploded in the final round.  His talent is unquestioned, but performances like this really looks bad on his resume.  You want to be considered one of the best of all time, you can't get your a$$ handed to you by Ted Potter.

REALLY disappointed Chez Reavie couldn't shoot a round Sunday. ends up with his 2nd second his last two. looking like Patton Kizzire earlier in the season when he was "wicked" close" and finally broke thru at the OHL in Mexico
