We want that old thing back from Chicago. Hustle. They showed plenty of it against Orlando the last time out, covering the spreead of +3 at home, shooting 6 3's and shooting 83.3% from the foul line, which is crucial in lose games.
The Bulls are showing signs of improvement since the firing of Skiles, and Ben Gordon is reaping the benefits. The Bulls have scored 100 or more points in 3 straight games, which is a dramatic improvement over what they were averaging prior to the firing. No more wait until ther's 4 seconds left on the shot clock to shoot it. The cuts are crisper, the shots are more wide open, the rebounding is improving.
Chicago just has the Cats number. They are 3-0 ats the last three contests. Add to that the fact that the Cats scored an upset win over Indiana 2 days ago, and they are not likely to score an upset in this one, as they are not the type of team that goes on runs, stringing together victories. They will return to form in this game, as they are a pathetic excuse for a team, with ill advised shots no true nucleaus, and a lack of overall discipline.
Ben Wallace should have his way on the boards as the Cats have no answer for him down low in terms of strength and will. Okafor is a malcontent, and wants out of town desperately, but Michael Jordan refuses to trade him to a contender as he has requested. This guy opted to not renogotiate his contract prior to the season, preferring to run out the chain and then test the free agent market when the season ends. Jason Richardson is hot and cold, and upset that he is on a non-contending team at this point in his career. Definite edge to Ben Gordon in that matchup. Captain Kirk should be able to match Raymond Felton's output, and so with the advantage with the starters, now comes the benches. The Bobs have no answer for Duhan, Tyrus, Noah (he's finiding his niche under new coaching), Sefolosha, and company. They are now bringing the type of energy necessary to be viable parts of the machine. Joe Smith has upped the team scoring average ever since being installed in the starting lineup.
The Cats will get punished on the boards in this game, and that will help Chicago start a two game win streak that will continue tomorrow when they face off at home against the Portland Trailblazers.
I have no official opinion on the over/under line, but all indications point to an over as Chicago has picked up their scoring, averaging 104.3 points per game over their last three, and Charlotte scored 107 their last time out.
Chicago +1 2 units
