Walk lightly in this one Halladay fans Lefties on the yankees have hit him in the past Damon and Matsui especially. Halladay has not faced them in this park before and with that short porch in right field and the Yanks ability to put 8 left handed hitters in the line up. He could get knocked out. Wang is pitching better every outing and he is tougher on righties which the Jays are loaded with and in the middle of a power outage themselves.

A little obscure trend from a fan's perspective...Ever since Righetti's no hitter on July 4th,seems Yanks don't play well on this national holiday and on special events such as Old timer's day,bat day ect. Seems the disapointment has been embedded throughout the years, time over, walking away with a cool cap or bat with none victory to show for.Today also commemorates Lou Gehrig's famous speech.Yanks are 2-8 last 10 years on the 4th.Fully aware this is a weak trend to consider for a capper, none the less ,it's an inexplicable reminder of how poorly yanks seem to play on special event days with speeches and ceremonies.Throw in Doc Halliday with bargain price and the play is on the JAYS,having a hard time seeing Wang or Skanks BP outdoing the Doctor in town. Would'nt be something to see Doc throw a no hitter on the 4th ? Who's more caoable...Wang or Halliday ? BOL n' Happy 4th to all, Godspeed

I think the Yanks are worth a shot . Halladay might not be 100% yet and right now you better have your A game when going against NY at home. The Yanks hit righties good and Wang is getting better every game.

Despite their loss, the Blue Birds show a lot of promise. Admittedly, the Yanks spotted them some choice opportunities w/ their shaky defense. But then again, they aren't an especially good defense team; so that was probably to be expected.
As I had predicted, Wells hit his 8th HR of the season. Rios still looks a mess. But if there were ever a day for both of their bats to awaken, that day would be to-day.
Halladay will be happy to remind A.J. that he is still only 'second fiddle'.

Good points; I would just say --
1. Wang's a little better. Like he managed to beat the Mets. Good for him. But not enough today.
2. Good observation about some Yankee changeover, but Jeter, ARod, Posada, Matsui, Canoe, Damon still the same.
3. Yah, this park is different, as we know statistically. But it's no treat for Wang either, and may be worse in the sense that it always seems to bother him and other Yankee pitchers. They're obsessed by it.
This is either a bargain price, or a losing bet, and thus, no bargain at all. I think it's a bargain. I just wish more people disagreed with me.

I'll take Halladay against Wang all day. Yankees bats are livening up but over the last 3 seasons Halladay has been 7-1 with a 2.36 ERA. He looked rocky for the first few innings against Tampa whose bats are pretty lively too but then settled down, still only gave 5 hits in 6 and gave up 2 runs on a dinger, so I am hopeful the rust is off. The bigger concern, as usual, is the BJ bats the last 4 games they have 4 runs!! I think they'll hit against Wang, 5.10 ERA over last 3 years against tor, though and give us 4 runs. So If bullpen doesn't blow it. I'll say 4-1 jays may be safer with first 5 tho.
And Mistress or Madam or whatever it's called you may want to look at the rockies today too. Juice is somewhat high but looks really good.
