The world knows that Trump administration is turning US into a military dictatorship.  After violence in Minneapolis, ICE agents (thugs) are no longer welcomed.  ICE is an out-of-control militia that kidnaps and kills innocent people.  Entering homes without judicial warrants and defying court orders.

Experts say Trump has no legal authority to decertify Canadian aircraft.  Only Federal aviation administration can decertify if safety problems are discovered.  Canada did not decertify older US Gulf stream airplanes.  Besides, decertification would harm US interests because thousands of Canadian airplanes operate in the US.

Geoffrey Hinton the godfather of artificial intelligence warns that machines are becoming capable faster than institutions can adapt.  In the future, US is headed for mass unemployment and no one is prepared.  Universal basic income may help to buy more time to prevent mass dislocation of millions of Americans.  However Trump big ugly bill weakens US social safety net which is weaker than in other countries.

What is now happening in the streets reminds me we were warned of a runaway government in the late 60's. Most haven't learned a damn thing. I foolishly trusted our government back then but am now wise enough not to make the same mistake again.

American federation of government workers warns that Trump elimination of job protection for workers is an assault on nonpartisan, merit based professional civil service.  Problem is that Trump patronage system gives government jobs to political lackeys.  Resulting in more corruption, incompetence, waste and ineffective government.

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) states:  there are too many federal workers — and pushes for reducing the size and cost of the federal workforce.

While its focus has been on naming and targeting specific federal workers it views as impediments to certain policy agendas (rather than just generally saying there are “too many” federal workers), it has been part of current political efforts to shrink and reshape the federal workforce.

Crazy for Trump to threaten to block opening of new bridge between Detroit and Canada.  Blocking busiest trade crossing would harm economy and commerce of Michigan and Ontario.  Joint ownership of Gordie Howe bridge was negotiated by republican governor with construction paid by Canadian government.  

Anti-science Trump administration revokes landmark court ruling that greenhouse gas emissions are harmful.  Unlike rest of the world, rejecting science weakens US environmental and public health policies.  Scrapping regulations would make US less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change.  

Word is the racist/sex-offender/felon-asshole will agree to allow the bridge to open only if both Canada and Michigan agree to rename it the "Donald J Trump Bridge"

Illegal for republican House to pass SAVE act because US constitution only gives states the power to regulate elections.  At most, federal government may influence election procedure but not voter eligibility.  SAVE act is a solution in search of a problem because existing laws already ban non-citizen voting and voting fraud is very rare.  However courts have ruled suppression of voting is a far greater problem.  SAVE act could unfairly disenfranchise millions of eligible voters.  Creating barriers for low income, senior, young, married and minority communities.  Many people lack acceptable forms of identification.
