Great posts, i have the same thoughts about money but a lot of people dont think that way, because no amount of money to them is ever enough. They arent happy with 20 houses, 50 cars, yahcts, planes etc etc etc and instead of enjoying their lives, like you said all they worry about is sucking every last cent out of life they can get.  Am not jealous of these people and in fact i feel quite sad for them, because they are consumed by just wanting money to buy more things they never use anyways.

There was this billionaire and his wife who were building a 100,000 square foot house.  A 5000 square foot closet.   Why?  I know the dolts here will say they earned the money, so they can do what they want, but these people actually miss the whole point.

What really cracks me is how some posters here who are not wealthy and more then likely never will be, are so worried about rich people getting taxed.  Its down right comical.

They still believe if the rich arent taxed they will create more businesses and hire more people  They just cant seem to grasp the fact the rich with all their loopholes arent being taxed in the first place and as far as creating jobs, they arent gonna create jobs in our country, when they have all the people in other countries willing to work for slave wages. Why would they pay a person in our country 10 bucks an hour with benefits, when they can pay people overseas 5 bucks a day with no benefits.  Dont need a math degree to figure that one out.  Yet some guys here are in such denial, they cant accept the fact that the rich are never going to bring jobs back here, and still choose to defend these rich people.  It really does boggle my mind.

It really is a shame that we all dont work together to make society better for everybody.

I also used to love money, but over the years i have learned that its not as important as i once thought it was. I dont long to have excess money. Just enough to lead a okay life.

Nowhere in my post did i say i was entitled to anybodys money, so really keep making up more bullshit, because your an expert at it.

Do i believe if a person makes more money, then that person should pay more in taxes towards our society, then the answer is yes.

Maybe someday you will actually understand what i wrote and not think of it as me being entitled to anybody elses money.

I want to pay my share in life and others especially rich people should as well, instead of using slick tax loopholes created for the rich to use to get out of paying their fair share.

I honestly still cant figure out why guys like you dont care how the rich and corporations get out of actually paying taxes, while you are paying your share.

Damn guys, it must really irritate you that I choose not to live in total all-encompassing fear like some Glenn Beck disciple. 

Why don't we just get rid of taxes and government altogether?  Let's go backwards in time and all live in tiny clans and tribes with our own little militias.  That way you can be 100% "free."  Have fun building an infrastructure, fending off attackers, dealing with unrest, protecting your food supply, generating power and fighting disease.  At least you won't have to worry about Obamacare.

Lordspoint I'm with you on all that.  I agree with conservatives on plenty of issues.  I'm just not naive enough to think that Romney's gonna waltz in and usher in this grand era.  If he wins nothing will change.

I work crazy hard.  I'm working right now, actually.  You think I LIKE paying taxes?  Of course I don't.  I'd love to be able to keep every penny.  But I think that's a selfish notion.  Since I have no control over my taxed dollars I don't let it keep me up at night.  WTF do I care if it goes to some poor person or towards building a fighter jet that we don't need?

That's my point tho.  You think Zuckerberg could've made Facebook living in the slums of China?  Probably not.  There's a price to pay for freedom, and it's called taxes.  I don't see why it's so wrong to pay more taxes the more your income rises.  It gives you a choice...you can slack off and earn nothing and pay nothing, or you can go all out make 20 billion dollars and pay 10 billion in taxes.  What's the problem?  Are you saying you're JEALOUS of the guy paying nothing?

I'm not advocating the government taking your hard earned money (and there needs to be some clarification on that - big difference between a guy who busts his ass night and day making a business work which in turn supports some local community, and a coddled phony who poses with money stuck in his mouth in boardrooms in between slicing and dicing companies).  And I think it should be mandatory that every man and woman serve a year in the army.  I'm for the death penalty.  I love capitalism.  I think government does need to cut spending.  But I just can't go into this camp that blindly lets corporations and the super wealthy rape us.  I'd rather stick up for the factory worker than the owner.

Maybe I should get more involved.  I told people I would've handled 9/11 much differently.  I would've given them a week to hand that clown over, after that the bombs start to drop and don't stop till the whole region is a parking lot.  0 American lives lost and the $ we would've saved fighting pointless wars probably could pay for healthcare 50 times over.
