None that I know of.

I know they are OK with LEGALLY applying for sanctuary/asylum as our laws DO  exist - pending a hearing to determine the validity,  yes, I am aware of that!

But allowing illegals, other than a few employed by the trump org --- no.

What DOES appall many non-MAGAs is the fact that estimated 50% of "illegals" in our country actually were people from all over the world (not Mexico and/or central America) who were granted LEGAL entry but have since overstayed their visas.

MANY OF THESE ARE WHITE -  who speak English!!!!  

They aren't all "disease-ridden, drug-smuggling, disgusting brown/spanish-speaking" people!

This *FACT* comes as a shock to many on the right. The majority of MAGAs tend to view "illegals" as "wetbacks" (brown people who speak spanish) sneaking into the country across the southern border -- completely ignorant of the fact that there are MILLIONS of WHITES also "illegally" in the country - to which the right is paying little to no lip service whatsoever!!! 99.9% of their ranting and WHINING is about "brown/spanish-speakers" sneaking in thru the southern border.   Hmmph, imagine that.  HALF the problem is LEGAL entrants who overstayed - many of whom are WHITE, but the focus is the border...Why does most of the right say nothing of the millions of WHITES here illegally?  I doubt most of them are working in the fields picking crops.  It would seem logical (due to white priviledge) that a high percentage of them are employed in the US taking jobs Americans should have.

This tells any intelligent/rational person that for most if not ALL of the WHINERS in the greater MAGA cult in congress, social media, tv, radio, etc. are far more concerned about "brown/spanish-speaking people" than they are about "illegals" per se.  Put 2 and 2 together to figure out WHY...

I mean if they were TRULY against "illegals"  -- all illegals -- then we would also hear them CONSTANTLY WHINING about the whites and others who are here illegally from overstaying their visas.  CONSTANT whining about them too --- not just the brown people from the south!

The Biden admin. constantly blames "a broken immigration system that we inherited". They think we're all stupid & can't discern "immigration system" from "secure border". They're not even trying to stop the invasion.

Same.  I know a lot of people, and deal with many every week. We talk politics from time to time and seriously none condone allowing illegal entry into our country by any means, save the possibility of a rare few seeking legitimate political asylum say from dictatorships and fascist governments

prejudice and discrimination takes on many forms . Those that champion it’s demise are sometimes the worst offenders when it comes to falling prey to it’s evil . If you harp against it , it’s best that you don’t practice it . Speaking to people and open communication is the key to true justice . Closing the door on people because you fear what you may find out about yourself , or in order to keep your beliefs “ safe “ from criticism is prejudicial and discriminatory in my opinion .

It’s getting dicey in here . I think our freedoms are being put to the test . Politics has infiltrated itself into every facet of society . It is indeed a web to which everything gets tangled . Who will rise above and fight for true justice ? I know I will .

How about this instead- I box this thread and about 25 of similar non-content threads on the first page and get rid of so much clutter that exists?

Neither side is better than the other, that is the reality here and nothing else. Both sides complaints are legit, neither side seems motivated to create respectful conversation and actually make things better.

When I agree with posters, I say so. When I don't, I say why until we hit an impasse.

If we took Donald out of the conversation, I believe we may agree on more subjects than we realize.

 You are not the issue, in fact of the DEM side you engage more than most anyone. Also, you are not forced to engage with anyone you feel is offensive, I choose not to engage with several people so nothing wrong with that at all.

 While I understand your point about potential costs of a wall being underestimated, I just wanted to give you some numbers for the context I was using earlier:

The initial construction of the Interstate, as proposed in 1956, was completed in September of 1991 and at the time had a total length of approximately 40,000 miles.

Actual Cost to build the Interstate Highway System was $114 Billion over 35 years ago, and $500 billion in 2008 dollars.

And:

The average 2019 per-mile disbursement is $14,570 for maintenance

So, even as extensive as this project was and even including ongoing maintenance and projects it is not even close to $1 Trillion dollars -- let alone multiple Trillions of dollars.

That is why I say that most people do not understand really how much a Trillion dollars is.  That is also why so many folks do not understand how much the deficit really is.  That is why when you tell them if you take all of the money from all of the 1%ers it will not make a dent in it.

I always like this example:

• One million seconds is about 11 and a half days.
• One billion seconds is about 32 years.
• One trillion seconds is 32,000 years.
