Problem is that US is a failing democracy. Naturalization weakens democracy because of federal takeover of state or local election administration. For example, counting ballots. However "For the people act" strengthens democracy and government accountability as in other countries. Make voting easier, limit big money influence and mandate nonpartisan commissions to draw electoral maps.
