Department of government efficiency really isn't about improving effectiveness. It aims to recklessly cut spending to satisfy anti-government ideology. Sabotaging agencies by firing employees can only make government more dysfunctional. Comparing countries, US is in the middle range in government expenditure as a percentage of GDP. US spends relatively less than other rich countries rated higher in quality of government.

Probably because I was once in a govt position, not federal, where I really couldn't do the job that should have been done. The old this is way it's always been done. I moved on. Had competent leadership shown up I would have gladly done my job the right way. Can't help but think some of these folks in the same boat.
