The government knew and he knew. John McCain knew. We are not that stupid. A call for war right after 9/11? Give me a break. WMD's an excuse for war. That excuse whether you like it or not fast tracked the intelligence gathering which was deficient and kept the US from subsequent attacks on US soil.
The supposed presence of Al Qaeda elements in Iraq, was largely imaginary. If anything, our presence helped spur recruiting by sectarian militias and local supporters of Al Qaeda. Whether it kept the US from subsequent attacks on US soil is very debatable.

The point is (and obviously so) that every fool on the left claims that it is racist not to vote for obama (regardless of rationale). So therefor only bigots vote for him because of color (and really that's the only reason to vote for him).
Thanks esplanade far right wing nuts like you drive objective, independent, moderate thinking individuals to vote for President Obama. Bigots like you are helping President Obama get reelected and you don't even know it.

I have no idea if you remember what every expert was saying at the time but I do and I follow this stuff daily. At the time the march to war was that Saddam was ignoring UN resolutions that were passed after the first Gulf War. A lot of Americans were surprised at the urgency and insisting that this had nothing to do with Al Qaeda. In fact the case was not really being made that Al Qaeda was in Iraq but the case was being made that Saddam had offered them a place of hiding and was financially supporting them. It was clear that we wanted to move the battlefield. I don't want to get into a Clinton bashing thing but he did slash budgets for intelligence gathering in the 40% range according to the experts. They say that is why our intelligence was deficient and why we had inadequate assets in place for intelligence. As far as subsequent attacks, just about every terrorist expert was emphatically saying that another attack within a year or two was almost a certainty. If that is true I think that the information we got off the battlefield was instrumental in their prevention. But to think that Al Qaeda would stop, well that is naive. This is not going away. Also, no way for us to know the truth but there are snipets leaking out about the second Iraq War.

Obama will lose this election because of UNEMPLOYMENT, not skin color, not taxes, not women's rights, not immigration, not gay rights but because too many people are out of work or who have family members who are. He has run out of time and people fear four more years of significant employment problems.

I distinctly remember Vice President Dick Cheney making repeated assertions of Al Qaeda links to Iraq, contending that the terrorist group was in full operation with Saddam. This, of course, is absurd because Saddam was a secular dictator and didn't want to share power with any religious fanatics.

Top Romney surrogate John Sununu suggested Thursday night that Colin
Powell endorsed President Barack Obama in part because the two men are
the same race.
Sununu should be put out to pasture, he is an abomination...

Actually No Intellect, the bigot is you and all the reasonable moderates have already left obama. The only koolaid drinkers left are the win at any cost loons who could care less that obama pulled his pud watching in real time while our ambassador was murdered. Are you such a damn hypocrite that you can't see the mirth in the claim that only racists vote obama, when that is the ONLY claim your side has had to stem the tide of departure from the sinking obama rowboat.

Powell is black, what else is new. Even he is blindly loyal to a man of his race. I have no respect for Powell if he believe 4 more years of BHO (the great divider) will be good for the U.S.A.
