Thank you GOP ! Trump brags he is taking in Billions ! Straight from America’s at the store! Midterms will be retribution time.
When Biden took office coffee was $1.28 lb. When Biden left office coffee was $3.45 lb. https://www.macrotrends.net/2535/coffee-prices-historical-chart-data#google_vignette
Now it's $3.09 and it's all Trump's fault.

The S in South Dakota is capitalized. And I would be willing to wager that the average IQ is higher in South Dakota than it is in Brooklyn.

Its covers who gives a crap if i put a capital s if you think people in south dakota are smarter then Brooklyn then you have spent 0 time in Brooklyn whatsoever.
South dakota entire population is 22 percent of Brooklyn's. Lets be real though nobody gives a rats a$$ about south dakota but Brooklyn and New york they come to visit. Money is here. Excitement is here. South dakota is dullsville that serves 0 purpose

During 2024 campaign, Trump promised to lower prices. Now he is bragging about raising prices. Polls show most Americans blame Trump for inflation. His inflation is mostly self inflicted by imposing bad tariffs policy condemned by most economists. Unlike Biden who inherited worldwide supply chain disruptions caused by pandemic recession.

That’s nice! We all can’t be as bright as professor Stumpy ! A little Petty…..You think ? Maybe it’s a sign frustration? I have to guess by now you’re starting to question your support for Trump who is a net negative to the country. A huge negative!

You have been a dying country for years - I wrote an essay about that under the Bush administration - where I had to look on the way the world evolved and you financed everything with borrowed money - Trump has just escalated things - but he isn’t at fault for your demise - that has been long underway and point of no return was reached years ago - unless other countries were willing to finance you - and yeah Trump has pretty much burned that bridge

Hey now, I'm sure SD supplies food for Brooklyn in some capacity.

The irony of this post is not lost on me. And I believe it wouldn't be lost on the average South Dakotan but I won't go there. I have been to Brooklyn. And I have been to South Dakota. I stand by my statement. New York is New York. No one is comparing cultural impact. No one is debating which is cooler. Some of the greatest minds undoubtedly reside in New York. There's just also a bunch of complete idiots, which bring down the average. There are those from backgrounds of disadvantage, which bring down the average. New York probably has more geniuses per capita but we're talking about people how many people have basic intelligence. How many people who read at a 12th grade level and put together proper sentence. I take South Dakota all day. Rural, sparsely populated states typically have higher average IQs than states with diverse high populations.
What are we really talking about though? Your post is indicative of a notion that plagues many liberals, which has lead to a disconnect with a fair bit of the country. This notion that liberals are somehow smarter than the average conservative. More intelligent. Better suited to make decisions, as if their Democrat vote is more valid than some farmer in South Dakota. There is a higher incidence of college degrees amongst Democrats, sure, but is the party's constituents more intelligent? Probably not. There are plenty dipshit adherents of both parties.

This almost feels like a personal attack, which I don't understand as we have never had beef, nor have I ever came at you sideways. I have yet to question my support of Donald Trump. I voted based on border security and foreign spending. I disagree with the Big B Bill but I usually diverge with the Republican party on such things.

You got that wrong! To my surprise you usually post responses with substance and personal beliefs…..Not spell check or punctuation? I’ve posted here 20+ and never fussed with someones miss capitalization or IQ ….Hopefully that clarifies the post .

All good, bro. Glad I was mistaken. Upon rereading, I kind of thought I took it the wrong way but you never know around here.
To your comment, I can be a real grammar nazi but only in instances where the person making the grammatical errror(s) is insulting someone elses intelligence. If you're going to insult an entire states intelligence while simultaneously writing like someone who dropped out in middle school, i'm going to call it out.

This is false. Just a flat-out lie.
In February, the global price of arabica coffee reached $4.41 per pound, the highest price in recorded history, surpassing the spikes of 2011 and the frost crisis of 1977. That milestone occurred before any tariffs were announced, and though the price has since receded, it remains at elevated levels. As of June, a pound of roasted coffee costs U.S. customers nearly 13 percent more than it did a year earlier.
Now, with new duties added, a wave of panic is rippling through the global coffee trade. The United States is the world’s largest importer of raw coffee.
https://apple.news/AzCWbNNP_QPaHpxsJLPTQFw
Now let’s question that and look at other data, which supports the prior article’s conclusion that coffee is about to see one helluva price spike:
https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/coffee
That analysis is from this site, and just look at the one year chart - all the price volatility is in 2025, when Dementia J Chump is president.
News flash: tariffs are a tax on consumers and businesses. That’s why these lying liars have to lie about the current state of affairs. It’s all fun and games until most of the country is paying $5-$10 a cup.
Being pro-tariffs on products that cannot be made in the US is one of the dumbest hills to die on, but I never underestimate the mind-numbing justifications from our friends on the far right, fascist right wing.

Here are some more fun stats btw. Only liars will tell you that coffee is getting cheaper

@Sidehatch
Did you even realize you linked a graph of world coffee prices in a debate about the price of coffee in the U.S.? Make that make sense.
Trump's "coffee tariffs" are only a possibility at this point. Nothing is etched in stone, and nothing has taken effect. What's affecting coffee prices are the same things that have always affected agricultural commodities. Not enough rain. Too much rain. Frost. Volatility in producing regions. Trump has nothing to with current coffee price spikes.
p.s. After the $2-$3 tip I leave, my quad lattes already cost me ten bucks. I don't know what to tell ya. If you drink regular drip coffee, brew it at home. And if you don't mind crap coffee, buy some dang Folgers.

For sure World and USA prices can vary.
The easiest place to check is FRED.
You can see that since Feb 2021 until now that the price has essentially doubled.
https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/APU0000717311
But you have to keep in mind that with commodities there are a lot of factors, and with coffee it is usually weather events. There is also a growing demand for coffee as well.
I am sure you can isolate out some tariff factors.
But even as late as the end of last year there were some concerns that the prices world wide would be going up.

Walked in to get my quad latte today, kind of in a rush. The line is off the hook. I get up to order and the barista places my drink down before I even get the words out. $5 tip today so my 4-banger was a whopping $12.75. Mind you, I have a fairly decent espresso machine at home. Coffee shouldn't be a luxory but it's ok for it to be. You can still get a drip Mr.Coffee for as low as $20 and catch some decent beans for $5 a pound on sale. This hasn't changed.
