This stuff happens in "phony scandals" all the time:

Sources now tell CNN dozens of people working for the CIA were on the ground that night, and that the agency is going to great lengths to make sure whatever it was doing, remains a secret.

CNN has learned the CIA is involved in what one source calls an unprecedented attempt to keep the spy agency's Benghazi secrets from ever leaking out.

Since January, some CIA operatives involved in the agency's missions in Libya, have been subjected to frequent, even monthly polygraph examinations, according to a source with deep inside knowledge of the agency's workings.

The goal of the questioning, according to sources, is to find out if anyone is talking to the media or Congress.

It is being described as pure intimidation, with the threat that any unauthorized CIA employee who leaks information could face the end of his or her career.

In exclusive communications obtained by CNN, one insider writes, "You don't jeopardize yourself, you jeopardize your family as well."

Another says, "You have no idea the amount of pressure being brought to bear on anyone with knowledge of this operation."

no, no, no... doesn't fit the Obama agenda so I will be just written off as: political posturing, or a 'distraction'.   notice, when the irs scandal first broke, Obama said it's a serious problem.  and as more and more is uncovered, Obama refers to it as a 'distraction'.

how many if these Obama soldiers (wallstreet cappers, stiln, dl36, don Quixote, etc) can just say: 'yeah that's not good'???

it doesn't mean all democrats are bad.  or republicans are the ultimate party.  everyone screws up, but these narrow vision liberals cannot give one inch on any of these issues.  not one trayvon supporter ever said: 'yeah he shouldn't of struck first'.  just stick to your story no matter what- no matter how foolish.  again, you just expose your inability to reason.

This one will not go away. No patriots at CNN. We will see. Somebody please correct the following. This was the 1st time in American history the President of the United State, The Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense offered no help to Americans callin for help while  in distress. One of the results of the inaction was the purging of flag officers in the United States military.

I said it at the time I think there was a CIA / gun running operation running out of there.

seems like it would have been a good location for Libya Syria Iran

This is interesting stuff and it actually goes on way more than people realize. Many many embassies are engaged in CIA activities and many embassadors as well as employees are placed at risk as a result.

The Reagan Administration was very big into using embassies for such. Clinton too.

The conundrum becomes how much we disclose when disasters like Benghazi happen. Its really hard to say.

KGB worked out of embassies all throughout the Cold War and I'm sure they pretty much still do.

Massad, CIA other intelligence divisions of countries are no different.

I think the big difference is  the Soviets and certainly Israel would have given support if their people were under attack or at the very least would have gotten retribution.

They would have publicly condemned the attack, not tried to keep sweeping it under the rug

I I think they were gathering intel on Syria Libya Iran.

Seems to be a good central location...
just have to make sure your assets are safe and not compromised.

I'm sure Mossad, MI6, Cia lose spooks all the time.
I guess that is the price a nation has to pay when they spy

    Yep.

I'm not so much interested in what they were doing there (that is a question for the oversight committees) but why the Admin wants to keep them so quiet.

Disavowing spies is something that is done routinely.

They were most likely on a covert action of some sort, so acknowledging who was where doing what coukd be national security.

    Why were 2 seals nearby?
    If 2, how many more?

Maybe they were ordered to stand down so their cover wasn't blown.

Members of seal team 6 were shot down and killed just a year earlier.

    WHY WERE THEY IN AFGHANISTAN?

Can you imagine how much Michael Moore, Sean Penn, and every other hardcore lefty would be frothing at the mouth if this happened on a conservative President's watch?

Obviously this goes for the mentally ill hardcore lefty's in this forum as well...no need to name names either...they know exactly who they are

Rep. Frank Wolf is renewing his call for the creation of a special House committee devoted to investigating the Benghazi, Libya, attack after an attorney for a State Department whistleblower said that 400 surface-to-air missiles intended for Syrian rebels were stolen, fueling a cover-up.

    Ummmm.
I dont know what you are talking about, as far as I know there was only a few people there, protesting an anti-muslim video from youtube.  The President? a coverup?   HE was in bed .

    What difference does it make???

    LoL.

More than anything, I hope this kills Hillary's campaign for President.

I am not naive enough to think that any justice will come to those who lied to the American people, or gave arms to Al Qaeda.  I do think that it could Damage Hillary Clinton's chances of attaining any office.

Just the image of her saying " what difference does it make" with balled up fists pounding the table.
juxtaposed with the information that has come to light is enough to bury her.

The day that she announces her presidential run, the RNC should push to have her arrested for war crimes.

Today President Obama had a morning security briefing from national security adviser Susan Rice, which included discussion of the ongoing violence in Egypt.

Mr. President, you've got a decision to make.

    I know...the 4 is too much club....hand me the 6 ... Susan..

Here you go Mr.President ..but after vacation you have some tough issues to focus on ..and your schedule looks excruciating..

I know that too ..I'm not looking forward to welcoming the 1972 Dolphins to White House ceremony honoring the only team to go 17-0 and meeting Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Don Shula ..

But you got to do, what you got to do,, Sue...

Fast & Furious then back to Benghazi ,now back to Fast & Furious.. .

Sounds like a plan or a tennis match ..lol

    08/14/2013

Three more weapons from Fast and Furious have turned up at crime scenes in Mexico, CBS News has learned, as the toll from the controversial federal operation grows.

According to  DOJ tracing doc's obtained by CBS News, all three guns are WASR-10 762-caliber Romanian rifles. Two were purchased by Fast and Furious suspect Uriel Patino in May and July of 2010. Sean Steward, who was convicted on gun charges in July 2012, purchased a third. The rifles were traced yesterday to the Lone Wolf gun shop in Glendale, Ariz.
