Was it really that great of a laydown?    With the two 4's out there the guy could have had three 4's easily.    Or he could have had two pair with one of the pairs being an Ace.

Don't get me wrong, it was a good laydown but I don't know about best ever.

I think Hellmuth busted out a few hands later also.

I think I have actually seen him make better laydowns.    Didn't he make some crazy laydowns against Annie Duke in that celebrity invitational tourney that the winner got 2 million.?

the turn was an awful card  for the guy with aces because it gave him more possible hands that could beat ak
there is no way an old nit who rebombs preflop has the 4 -that never went thru helmuths mind

Yeah he could have had a 4 in his hand..that makes alot of sense, a guy is going to minimum raise  Phil with  a freaking 4 in his hand preflop. What you said after that is even more retarded, "he could have had two pairs with one of the pairs being aces.." THEN PHIL WAS AHEAD YOU DIMWIT

You really need to stick to the penalty box where you can insult strangers from the safety of your step dads basement.

Gee3 you are so right he made an awesome laydown and in tourneys he  almost always does whether you like the guy or not

I totally agree...how could he have a 4? No one min raises with A4 at all...in fact he wouldnt even raise...at least not a min raise...

He wouldnt min raise with 44 either.

    The 4 meant nothing

    Its a great lay down.

I think Phil figured his min raise was with a big PP preflop...thats the read it seems like he thought right away.

The Q helped him, as the guy is not betting 10K with KK or JJ...so AA, or QQ beats him...AQ is the one hand phil might think he has...that he could beat

    greyhound truly is amazing.

The old fart made a mistake in talking to Phil...he was WAY too comfortable and confident during the conversation.

    And yeah, he's re-popping Hellmuth pre-flop with a 4 in his hand.

I havent seen the video but reading the responses, I'm assuming it's the one in the WS where the old guy flops a set and PH has A-K?
If so, the Q was a horrible card for the old dude considering PH put him on Q's. Good laydown yes, I'm not sure PH gets away from A-K if no picture card comes on the turn or river.

Sorry I forgot the guy had Pocket aces.    I though he had Ace and something else.

That's why I said he might have two pair.

I guess I thought he had AQ.     Probably should watch the hand for longer than 2 minutes before I comment next time.

No I didn't think he had AQ, but I did forget he had pocket aces when I made my post.

And I see your point about the guy probably not reraising preflop with a 4 and something else.

My bad.   Bad post by me.

    Hutch,

You are 100% right he talked and was way too confident and phil who probably has 50 tells on the average guy saw not one that denoted weakness so he let the hand go.

    A7,

I think your assessment is correct also, if a rag comes on turn I do not think even phil could but him on AA, of course I could be wrong but that seems like an impossible laydown. Any pain saved Phil. If I ever run into him ( don't know him) I am going to ask him if he was VERY confident it was queens full like he inferred during the hand. Something tells me he will not mind replaying that hand again he looked awfully good during it. But I agree with you and hutch in the previous post, and still AWESOME laydown.

You think mike the mouth gets away there?

He gets to the valet, thats where he "gets" in that spot

Who does he think he is norman chad?  If he locks up he may get all of phils chips and a bust out to remember forever

I disagree, I dont think he played it badly, I think he got unlucky, yes he flopped a boat but if a Queen doesnt hit the turn, he gets a good amount of Hellmuth's chips

With kings I don't think he is capable of behaving the  way he did. That is why I feel he playd hand so poorly, all the chatter and phil is thinking "this man is way too comfy against me, he must have it all" with kings I think he just folds or makes a bad call

Well, attitute is part of poker and make your opponent believe what you want them to believe.

BTW, you say with Kings he folds or makes a bad call, he never confronted the scenarion where he had to make a decision to fold or make a bad call.
