Donald Trump “spewed expletives” at then-Senate Majority Leader
Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) after McConnell congratulated Joe Biden
on his election victory in a speech on the Senate floor.

Trump was apoplectic with McConnell for his congratulatory Dec. 15
comments and berated him in a furious telephone call as disloyal,
according to excerpts from the book that Insider published Thursday.

“You lost the election, the Electoral College has spoken,”
 McConnell told Trump.

The Kentucky Republican hoped it would “be the final time he and
Trump would ever speak to each other,” wrote Woodward and Costa.

Days before the long-delayed conclusion of an Arizona vote “audit”
of the 2020 election—one that conspiracy blogs trumpeted as the
“MOST TRANSPARENT AUDIT EVER”—the conspiratorial group behind
the effort is fighting a court order to turn over internal documents.

Cyber Ninjas, an obscure Florida tech company with no prior elections
experience, has been leading a chaotic review of Maricopa County,
Arizona’s 2020 presidential election since April. The months-long effort
- which they claimed would only require 3 weeks - has been a fiasco
both technically (auditors caused nearly $3 million in damage to voting
machines and caught COVID en masse) and politically (Cyber Ninjas CEO
Doug Logan was revealed to be an election truther who collaborated
with Trump attorney Sidney Powell on voter fraud theories).

In August, a judge ruled that Cyber Ninjas must turn over audit-related
documents by mid-September, following a pair of public records lawsuits
from the Arizona Republic and the transparency group American Oversight.

Liz Cheney rebukes Republican critics:
"Trump doesn't believe in the rule of law"

Washington (CNN) GOP Rep. Liz Cheney, one of just two Republicans
on the select committee investigating the January 6 insurrection,
brushed off her GOP detractors in a new interview, stating pointedly
that former President Donald Trump "doesn't believe in the rule of law."
"Those who think that by ignoring Trump, he will go away,
have been proven wrong," Cheney told CBS News' "60 Minutes" Sunday.

"And in my view, the American people, they deserve better
than Joe Biden.  But the alternative CANNOT BE
a man (trump) who doesn't believe in the rule of law,
and who violated his oath of office."

She also took a swipe at House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy,
calling his actions after January 6 "unforgivable."

"What he's done is embrace Donald Trump.
 And if I were doing what he's doing,
 I would be deeply ashamed of myself," Cheney said

There are plenty of headwinds for America's equity investors.
Top of mind is the debt ceiling fight in Washington, as President Joe Biden
spoke on the home-grown debt crisis this morning.
Congress has until October 18 to increase the country's borrowing limit.

"The United States pays its bills and it always has," Biden said.
Raising the debt limit is usually a bipartisan undertaking, and it should be.
But that is not happening today," he added.
"The Republicans in Congress -- what they're doing today is so reckless
and dangerous in my view. Raising the debt comes down to paying what
we already owe, not anything new!"

Lol. Fubduh, you're funny. If the govt had the money, they would pay what they owe. Opening a credit card to pay an old credit card is not "paying what we owe". It's taking money from Peter to pay Paul, but you already owe Sally money. Raising the debt ceiling means PRINTING MORE MONEY. What happened last time we printed more money? Inflation. Inflation is still an issue. Raising the debt ceiling would put us in hyper inflation. Are your wages going up?? probably not. Are you groceries going up? Absolutely.

Maybe the gov't needs to budget better and not waste so much. Maybe institutions shouldn't over leverage themselves.  Maybe we shouldn't shut down businesses. That allowed the top companies to take in record profits instead of small business and middle class families. You libs are funny. In an interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos,
Stephanie Grisham said that the former president's administration
often held back in pursuing retribution against his perceived political enemies
because he was seeking reelection.

"I want to just warn people that once he takes office, if he were to win,
he doesn't have to worry about reelection anymore," Grisham said.
"He will be about revenge!
He will probably have some pretty draconian policies."

Grisham is NOT the only former Trump administration staffer speaking out
about what went wrong in the West Wing. On ABC's "The View" Monday,
Alyssa Farah, former WH communications director, said that she resigned
her position in December after trump's false election claims began circulating.

"I started to see a tick up in rhetoric around the election was stolen,
seeing some of my colleagues go on TV say as much," Farah said.
"And I fundamentally knew that wasn't true
and it could have dangerous consequences."
