Don't tell me that you've never seen touts/scammers still give out a free pick or two via email so they can get you in their database.

Feel free to keep buying into the scam and defending him on here and on SBR.

He's now email farming AND has his own site starting up. I'm now more convinced than ever.

9. Poster begins to only hit at a 55% or lower clip.
10. Poster's followers bail and come back to Covers (the same site they claimed was crappy) to find another person to follow.

Repeat ad nauseum.

Now...you all can believe what you want to believe but I honestly wouldn't have to make my own bets if someone gave me $50 for every time I've seen this happen just in the last 2 years alone.


To recap....

#7 has now occurred. And now 7b has occurred too (I had left it out in my original post).

7b. Poster starts offering free picks via email for the purpose of email farming to get people in his database.

With his own website on the way, #8 should be just around the corner.

Weeble -- have you ever given thought to the idea to pull some crazy ju-jitsu stuff on these touts? I mean the theory and steps you have above are 100% correct and accurate in my experience in my time here at this board (and I know there are many, many others with longer lengths here that probably agree).

But look at point #9. Law of averages tells us that if dude gets hot and builds up enough of a following to go tout, he's gonna come back to earth at below 55%. Could it perhaps be worth it to find out their picks and just absolutely fade the shit out of them?

I doubt I'm the first person to think of this?

My argument was never about him going tout....if you read anything I have written in this thread I have consistently said I have no problems with touts...however I do have a problem scandicappers. Anyone who pays for tout plays has their own issue...but they better realize that gambling has no verified winning strategy. The only thing they can do is do their homework on who they are following and keep strict Money Management habits. Money Management is the key to success.

Did you read Stats' explanation? Blah blah blah...

But, like I said, it's not like the mods could ever know anything about these things go at least 95% of the time.

It's like if I went into an office building where they have their big network server and argued with the experts that nothing would happen if they just pulled out that big blue wire. I don't claim I know everything in the world but I have no clue why some people think they know more than the people who have obviously been around the block more than a few times.

BetOnSports was another criminal enterprise.........luckily I pulled my money out of there after I heard several horror stories, like for instance, when they stiffed Billy Walters for over $500,000 because he was winning too much  

I only had $8,500 but I pulled it out back in the fall of 2002.

You're kidding me, right? How do you think Covers can stay a free site? Um...with advertising.

Now, if YOU were one of those advertisers paying Covers to display your ads, etc, and you saw someone advertising for free, wouldn't YOU be pissed off?

What you're saying is not a secret and it's nothing new. People who pay to advertise on a site are allowed...people who don't pay aren't allowed. Find me a site that doesn't do the same.

PS If the powers-that-be over at SBR figure out that he's trying to do personal business over at their forum, he'll be banned all the same. I can name you more than a handful of people who thought they could do the same thing over there that got them banned here. Turns out...they were wrong.

The problem with your post is that you are talking about advertisement. Advertisement of a product correct? You have combined that ideology to the advertisement of a tout service in which I did not mention in my post. You quoted me out of context in the manner of questioning I was answering as well as cut out half of my response.


So what I will do is repost it in its entirety and then then speak to you in context of my post

So now with my answer in its full capacity...you see that I was speaking on the interigrity of Covers.com. I never mentioned that they should not have advertizements nor did I speak on touts posting on Covers.com. I simply stated that they were in bed with a crooked book. Yet Covers.com IMO has one of the biggest Anti Tout campaign in gambling circles. If you lay with person how can you MORALLY tell someone else not be a person or to not lay with one

I'll dumb that down for those that need it. Covers promotes TOUTS on the very first page and also ran advertizement from a crooked book. How can you do that on page 1 and then on page 2 condemn touts? Makes no sense to me. Just state a rule saying you can not be a tout and be associated with the forum. Thats it case closed.

i have been on this site for years.  i dont claim to be a good capper, i actually suck.  however, i have learned to follow other cappers streaks on this site and it has led to winning seasons every year.  if the people turn tout then they leave this forum and we never hear from them again so who gives a shit???  this guy has been picking winners the last four weeks and i have been on board for the last two.  lets cut the bullshit chatter and get on to week five already.  i will be checking back tomorrow, hopefully he hasnt either turned tout yet (LOL!!!) or been chased off by the covers police.
