    San Francisco 49'ers - 6 ****4 Units

    MONDAY NIGHT LARGE PLAY:
    Philidelphia Eagles - 2 1/2 (hook) *******7 Units

I admit these picks look pretty square, like the idiot Redskins fan was saying, but who cares? Pick winners. Houston will throw all day on Jacksonville. I'm a little worried about Jacksonville coming off the bye and being able to throw all over Houston as well, but the Texans are the better team getting less than 3 points. I like it. Last time I picked the Jags, they got embarrassed anyway.

Minnesota-Chicago, I definitely lean towards Minnesota. The Bears haven't won at home all year, while the Vikings should have the defensive line to abuse the Bears' OL. Chicago is not a very good team. I don't really trust Minnesota either, but I think they find a way to win.

49ers-Rams, I lean towards St. Louis. Both teams coming off a bye, but I feel St. Louis is a more tightknit team who will come out and play better. Almost a full touchdown is a lot of points to give with a team as spotty as the 49ers. This line is suggesting the Rams get blown out, and with their road history, it's possible. But I see a Rams team that can run the ball and has had two weeks to figure out what receivers to throw out there with Bradford. I think STL keeps it close.

Titans ML, I agree. Miami isn't a good running team anymore, and they haven't been a good home team all year. Now they're cutting Jason Allen and bringing in Al Harris off the street? This team is somewhat desperate. Pennington can stabilize things, and as a Jets fan, I remember him having some success against Tennessee. But this Titans team is just too solid, and coming off a bye, bringing out Randy Moss, I love this pick.

I've barely looked at Chiefs-Broncos. My first lean is to Denver coming off a bye at home with KC having back to back divisional road games, but I haven't looked enough at that to make a final choice.

Jets, I do like on the road in Cleveland, especially at 2.5. The Jets' run defense has been stout all year. Rex Ryan will throw all sorts of blitzes at Colt McCoy to try to confuse him. The Browns OL is good, but the Jets won't fear the Browns' WRs, so they'll blitz all the time. Expect the Jets to tee off at McCoy, who will get flustered and throw a pick or two. I could see Cribbs making some big plays, but I just don't see the Browns being able to put that many points on the board, and the Jets have too many playmakers on offense not to get at least some points on the board.

Good luck! Love your thread every week.

This is what I like, constructive argument on some plays for the other team... Thank you

I agree the Thursday night game is a tough one.  You want to say that Balt is the better team, but Flacco hasent been as sharp in the past couple games and Falcons in the dome are tough to beat.  Im leaning Balt as of right now.  Good Luck this week

Cleveland is an improved team absolutely, but they are going to get killed this weekend.  You think the Jets are going to give up 184 yards on 24 carries like the Pats did against Hillis?  Ummm no!   The Jets give up 85 yards per game and 3.3 YPC... And Cleveland is in for a long afternoon...

I am playing the under for many of the same reasons, however, I may be giving Cleveland D more credit than you are as I do think they can keep this one close. The leagues 2nd and 7th best team as far as rush defense effeciency, 2 offenses whose game plans revolve around pounding the rock. Sounds like a grind to me, will come down to who can hit those big plays and create turnovers/shortfields.

    Redskins VS Eagles:
(Refer to post 27)... To add on this game since it is the play I am most confident in... I understand that that people want to call this play "square" but so what, who cares, does it matter?  Yes the Redskins at home getting points in a division game on MNF... It doesnt get more "sharp" than that... The Redskins will get a significant amount of action for that reason alone which is why the line is what it is...But honestly can someone try and explain to me how the Skins win this football game? Because McNab is playing his old team? means Nothing.. Of course he will be pumped up but that doesn't mean they will win, they are still FAR inferior to the Eagles... The Eagles with Kolb are a good team... the Eagles with VICK are a dangerous team.. A team that will go deep into the playoffs if he stays healthy...The Redskins are just not a good football team, i'm sorry but they are not good...Average at best.. They rank 22nd in team efficiency, and the Eagles rank #2... This is what coaches use to grade their team as a whole.. How efficient are they in all aspects of the game...  the Redskins on defense are completely out-matched in this game... They do not have the speed outside the tackles to contain Vick... I bet the Colts last weekend basically for that reason.. Granted you could say I got lucky because of the penalty but the Colts were in that game every second... The reason is because they are VERY FAST outside the tackles, which I noted in my write - up last week... This is part of matching up the players in run/pass/play action situations/ and QB scrambling situations... This is why when you look at post #27 I noted that Washington (defensive) adj line yards 4.45, RB yards 4.76, 2nd level yards 1.34 (ranked 27th) Open field yards .97 (ranked 24th)... This is a problem for them going up against Vick and the Eagles... can Washington win this game? Absolutely! But it is WAY more likely that they get beat and they get beat bad on Monday night... GL

    Miami VS Tennessee:
Well Pennington has been named the starter this week and it is about time for the Dolphins... Henne is not a good QB and finally the Dolphins decide to start the right Chad... this is weird you have 2 teams with QB's with the same first name and the wrong ones were the starters (9ers)... haha anyway... Pennington is a professional and efficient QB who doesn't really make mistakes and is extremely accurate... His arm is crap but he is good... It is interesting to see how he will perform since he hasn't been on the field in a while...  regardless, I like the Titans in this game... they are a better team... They are a threat all over the field.. At RB, WR, and QB (not passing but moving around the pocket and scramnling opening up the field for the offense)... The Titans are the #3 ranked efficient team in the NFL.. They are VERY good!  The Titans and Eagles will be making some noise the rest of the year believe that... I only played 2 Units on this game which is an average play... They are on the road against a good football team... But they are not as good as the Titans on either side of the ball and Special teams... Tennessee is 5th Miami is 19th in ST.. There is value on the Dolphins at home getting points but I like the Titans in this one for an average play... GL

Oh well!!...I don't have the patience needed to deal with all the haters I would get for posting winners anyway.. Keep your picks hot and your dukes up.

I don't have a write - up for the Ravens - Falcons game... This game is just a small wager on the Falcons... Its impossible to provide an interpretation of how these teams will play on 3 days rest, who knows... GL
