That's a pretty good price, but Contador is the guy. Hard to win when you're not the team leader....Lance even said he's more then happy to support Contador. He also said, "I might not win, but if people think I'm not going to be in the top 10, they are mistaken."
The Lance that won 7 tours doesn't talk like that. Podium yes....winner....not quite. Love his balls of steel though.

Let me add this....Lance was a bit disappointed that he didn't get the yellow jersey after the team time trial. He NEVER was interested in the yellow before the mountains in the tours he won. It was all about the big picture. He even mentioned that he "might have a chance at getting the yellow one time" after the stage yesterday. He also said he is "stoked" for his TEAM to win. He never said that in tours past either.
I was on Contador at 1:1 before the tour started. Just in for 2 more units at 8:11 because they have really put the screws to the main rivals like D. Menchov, C. Evans, D. Sastre, etc. Even Lance said a few people lost the tour after the team time trial yesterday. Astana wins this tour, but Lance doesn't.
There is a reason you're getting those odds with Lance. He will be there, but he won't win.

No doubt, jm, but he's not talking like the leader of his team. And he's a huge fan of Contador....I think he knows Contador is stronger to be honest. His only chance IMO is if he's close enough that he can get the time back from Contador in the last individual time trial. I'm a huge Tour de France follower and I feel strongly about this. Caveat emptor, but I am extremely happy with my position. Cherry on top is that they have really smoked the main rivals so far....that is why the odds have dropped on Contador so much....because he's not as strong in the time trial...that is the only thing that can muff it up for him IMO.

Might as well make this the PB Tour de France in-game thread.
Interesting stage today. Contador put some time into Armstrong and others and jumps up to 2nd place. Astana flexing its muscles. Armstrong pretty much neutered Evans on the last climb today.
The interesting part about this tour is that there aren't many mountain finishes...which means it's tough to put time into others. This thing very well could end up being decided on the 2nd to last stage (Mount Ventoux)....because that is about the most brutal finish of the entire tour. Armstrong held up well today....my guess is he's going to try and be close enough to Contador to give it one last go in stage 20. The next individual time trial will tell a lot. I really don't know if TOO much is going to change over the middle stages of the tour because of the lack of mountain finishes. We'll see.

I have 2 bets for Contador to win. One at 1:1 and one at about 8:11.
They pulled Cavendish out of the race last year after 14 stages because there was nothing left for him to win....mainly mountain stages. Freire finished last year, though. And there is a pretty hefty mountain stage (20) toward the end....so I don't know if some of the sprinters are going to want to deal with that. Freire would be my first choice of which 3 of those will finish, but I wouldn't bet on anything like that...it's just too unpredictable. You don't know what the team directors are thinking....they may have even already made a decision for all we know.
This route is a lot different then years past...only a couple of mountain top finishes...so it will be interesting how teams try to make up time...it is a course that is going to breed a close race in the end IMO...that time trial will be huge.

Just updating the Tour thread in the box. 3 stages will decide this....stage 15 (mountain top finish), the time trial, and the trip up Mount Ventoux (another mountain top finish). Lance appears plenty motivated and pretty strong, but I'm still holding strong on Contador. It's going to be heads up between Lance and Contador.

I never thought Lance should have been given a chance but he was battling hard up that last mountain. Did not seem comfortable during the last few km's.

Way too easy for Contador.
