Home from abroad!!

Alright,Alright,Aright 82 days out of country and it was an eye opener. 48 days in Lagos Portugal the rest in Valencia Spain. Saw water every day and sailed 17 of them. Wagering was thru Paddy Power in both countries and kiosks were close enough to walk to. Everybody wanted US dollars but credit card handled 90% of the transactions, Smooth as silk. As I type my body clock is way off after getting into Pearson Airport at 3 in the morning today. Stayed off the internet for most of my trip and purchased a burner phone which was easy peasy. Total culture shock and had my Canadian flag pins on my clothing most days. Got asked if I was american most everywhere and when I repled I was Canadian I would get kissed on the cheek, both sides. Lots to say about trip. 95% positive about but everyone towards the end of my stay were worried about the "EXCURSION" by the USA. I have lots of questions for you guys!! Cranky, are you being paid? Big Red hows the new gig? Sac, you need to explain to me why the fish are so different over there!! And Biz, could of used a wingman more than a few times!! Will gather my thoughts later and try to tell you what goes on over there. I will leave you with one thought tho to ponder. Everybody eats late. Your an Early Bird if your there at 7  .

Caught about 20 minutes of a nature show about Portugal a little while back and I kid you not I remember thinking that Portugal may be a hidden gem of a vacation spot.No kidding true story..

Good to hear from the cellblock, thanks for the shoutouts. Kinda in ZOMBIE land but really enjoying the Buzzer Beaters. Only have 2 tickets with some serious dollare. Fla to repeat @ 12-1 and Purdue to make the Elite 8. Next weekend the lines will be as tight as a mouses ear!! PS: On the beaches over in Spain topless was the order of the day. 70 and over men should not wear black speedos. Seemed to be a thing. Me, boardshorts and BASS DASH tops and my white TIGERS hat with the dominent english D on the front!! 73 yr old guy stylin!! PSS: trainwreck, you would of had a riot with your moxie!

My circadian rhythem is crazily out of wack. Never felt it going over but boy not a feeling I am enjoying now. Couch day and Skip the dishes in my future. And now home Winter and spring are duking it out! Winter winning

Ha, you basically went to the countries which are the antithesis of the US hustle culture, no wonder you had a cultural shock. Maybe you already know this, but the British really love Portugal and Spain, some of them even retire there, at least for the winter. The only country which is more laid back is Greece, from the whole Mediterranean countries, now those guys take their leisure time seriously, with a siesta at lunch and all. If you ever have the opportunity to go back to Europe I recommend Greece, for the sailing, they have so many islands you could visit. 

As for the worries from then end of the trip, it has to do with the gas prices, the whole continent has experienced increases in prices for the past couple of weeks, and everybody is worried about a recession. Some countries have even capped the price of gas and diesel, to avoid the prices spiraling, because surprise surprise the gas companies are using this crisis to hike the prices even more, for their own greedy reasons as always.

On a serious note, the farm raised carp in Europe is delicious.

Almost back to normal but still up before the crack of dawn, just tho. Sac, Salted cod was very popular in Portugal along with Tuna steaks. Their what I would call a whitefish was HAKE served 7 ways to Sunday. These were on most menus daily and if invited over for dinner by someone I met a shellfish stew with bread and wine was always served with the main course. They love their freaking rice, Paella they called it over there. In Spain lots of fish choices and they loved to fry it. Beef was alot more readily available and price was right. Best meal in either country I had was a Grilled Sea bass. Chefs' kiss on that dish!! Made myself hungry typing this, time for breakfast!!! Oh ya, nice to get back to watching hockey! 15 games last night, WOAH!

 Hi Bro!!! Ran into a couple of real friendly Lebonese girls in Valencia. Partied with them a few times. those ladies were easy on the eyes!
