There is actually 1000's of "different" gods people believe in - Norse mythology alone has around 60 I think and Hinduisme has more than I care to count- which makes Slims rant even more entertaining imo because as pointed out it is actually more the exception than the rule to write it with capital letter

"it is actually more the exception than the rule to write it with capital letter"
No it's not..............
Capitalizing G in God,,because it's a proper noun .. referring to a singular being .. .you are using it as his name .Same as you would the names of people or places (e.g.europe is Europe ) Unless you want to use lowercase" g" as an insult.
Proper nouns (specific names for a particular person, place, or things) are always capitalized in English, no matter where they fall in a sentence.
Referring to a group of them... it would be gods......it's grammatically correct to use a lowercase 'g' and write 'gods and goddesses'.

You do it in Christianity cause it is his name - and you sometimes do it to highlight that they are of significance - Thor is the “god of thunder” for instance that is always spelled like that and it is like that in most religious beliefs - so take the “L” mate it is well deserved in this case and don’t embarrass yourself further

"Thor is the “god of thunder”for instance that is always spelled like that
Not so...It is spelled with a Large case G as well as with a small case g.....
Nevertheless , he's one of a group of gods (plural ) Norse gods, and is assigned to one particular function weather the power of nature....thunder lightning, storms etc. so he gets a lower case "g"........

Ok then we say that is the reason but then all religions but Christianity has more than one - because you only do it there - and then we are back discussing if your fake friend is more likely to be the real “god” than all the other religions

I can't decipher your last post.. So, I'lll be moving on ..since the tread is about Guns...not gods.
But you turned it into a spelling competition for the word “god”
and mate we have spoken German once and you made a mistake in a sentence of 3 words - and I know 4 languages better than English - so let’s just leave that discussion there
