I remember when Maddow was on the radio & I couldn't stand to hear her voice. However, in the last couple of years I've gotten to like her because she breaks stories that other shows won't touch. When she does screwup, she admits & apologizes to viewers. Not many of the talking heads will admit when they are wrong. Her guests are usually well versed on the topics being discussed.

She's the only one I regularly watch with ballgames on the other TV's.

She is truly the best.  I tape all her shows.  

She has a fun sense of humor as well that we never see on FAKES NEWS with the like of ph-cker, insannity, and ingracious

Love the way Maddow FACTUALLY begins her shows with a background setup to her main FACTUAL point.

Her expressions sometimes are absolutely priceless 

According to Business insider, former Fox executive Preston Padden blasts Fox news for causing widespread damage to the US.  Fox questioning of masks and vaccines contribute to unnecessary covid deaths.  Promotion of Trump's big lie about stolen stolen undermines democracy.  Milliions of Americans believe Fox falsehoods because they have been repeatedly drilled into their minds.  Padden was vice president of network distribution for 7 years.  No reasonable person should believe Fox news.

Robert Murdoch the owner of Fox plans to launch a new weather network on television.  But scientists are wary that it may be as politicized and detached from reality as Fox news.  For decades, Fox news has been the greatest promoter of climate change disinformation.  Lobbyists for fossil fuel industry.  University of Maryland survey found that the more people watch Fox news, the more likely they are misinformed.  A climate disinformation channel is the last thing we need.

They are trying to make a buck on the shift in real concerns among citizens, as weather channels/websites have shown an INCREASE in viership/readership, while FOX NEWS (without reporting on weather events)  is falling.

CNN averaged only 719,000 viewers during the primetime hours of 8-11 p.m. ET, while Fox News averaged 2.08 million during the same time period. CNN has failed to reach more than 1 million total viewers on 16 different days from June 9 through July 8.

Yes, that is a fact in primetime.  

CNN is just one of TWO liberal leaning cable networks.  So as anyone with an IQ above that of a common garden slugg can readily understand -- that is why their numbers are always lower than FOX (which gets almost ALL conservative viewers)

Thanks largely to adolf trump (and his weak-minded voters), America is more divided, more "tribal" today than anytime the past 150 years. This means, there are two distinct camps: liberal-leaning and conservative leaning.

Conservative leaning people, those who watch cable TV almost all go to the lone conservative-leaning channel, FOX NEWS.

Good for Fox.

Liberal leaning people, have so many more people that they have TWO cable TV channels to choose from: CNN or MSNBC

Thus, Nielsen Ratings -- which does not actually rate the "quality" of any TV show, but rather just counts the number of viewers -- it stand to reason LOGICALLY, that, in effect, the conservative channel will get HALF the American cable TV news viewers, while the TWO liberal-leaning channels have to SPLIT the other half of Americans.

Great for FOX and their advertisers that the liberal viewers are spread out between TWO channels!

Thus, theoretically, FOX programming *should* in all time slots, in every day, and in every week and month, ALWAYS have a higher total number of viewers in EVERY SLOT and for every demoggraphic.

They should in theory.

But somehow they manage to phuck that up from time to time, but if run properly it should NEVER OCCUR!

Still, when we add up all the numbers of how many Americans prefer to watch CONSERVATIVE cable news tv (FOX)

and all the Americans who prefer to watch LIBERAL-LEANING cable news tv (CNN + MSNBC) it is almost always the same week after week for over 313 striaght weeks now:  MORE AMERICANS PREFER TO TUNE IN TO LIBERAL-LEANING CABLE NEWS TV (CNN + MSNBC) THAN TO CONSERVATIVE CABLE NEWS TV (FOX)

This too is a FACT!

 "The Five" celebrated its 10th anniversary last week by outdrawing anything CNN or MSNBC had to offer as Fox News finished as the most-watched network in all of basic cable. 

"The Five" averaged 2.5 million viewers from July 5-11 to finish with a larger audience than the most-watched programs on the pair of liberal networks despite airing at 5 p.m. ET. "The Five" also outdrew all CNN and MSNBC offerings among the key demographic of adults age 25-54, averaging 352,000 viewers in the crucial category.

Fox News averaged 1.2 million total day viewers and two million during the primetime hours of 8-11 p.m. to finish atop basic cable in both categories for the week. "Tucker Carlson Tonight" was the most-watched show in cable news, averaging 3.2 million viewers and 526,000 among the demo coveted by advertisers.

"Hannity" also crushed his competition, dominating the 9 p.m. ET timeslot with 2.7 million viewers and 384,000 among the demo. Gutfeld’s other program, "Gutfeld!," also had a big week, averaging 1.5 million viewers and 277,000 in the demo to beat timeslot competition on both CNN and MSNBC.

US ranks last in trust of media among 46 countries in survey by Reuters institute of journalism.  Ranking is based on proportion of people who say they trust news in general.  Fox news has the highest proportion of people who say they didn't trust it.  Republicans tend to be more distrustful than democrats and watch fewer variety of sources.  But trust is important because it is a glue that holds society together.  US is one of few countries that hasn't experienced improved trust since 2020.  In most countries, media trust increased because of covid coverage.

PRRI survey reveals republicans who most trust mainstream media are more likely to be vaccinated than those who most trust far right media.  In a crisis, trust and truth are really important in teamwork necessary to defeat pandemic.  People who consume mainstream media are less misinformed than those who are brainwashed by partisan misrepresentations of vaccines.   Sadly, far right media is too politicized and Fox news deserve blame for low vaccination in some states.

Republican Lincoln project releases an anti-Fox news ad on youtube.  Fox news is killing Americans by pushing anti-vaccine hysteria and misinformation.  99% of covid deaths occur among unvaccinated people.  Hypocritically, Fox owner Murdoch is vaccinated and his employees without masks are required to have vaccine passports.  Ad ends with a request to viewers to call local cable provider to drop Fox news.  It's not about politics.  It's a matter of life and death.

Fox News is simply a big disservice to America.
