Fox News host admits his show was dead wrong

John Roberts, co-host of the afternoon show "America Reports," made the Monday
concession after CNN and other media outlets published fact check articles 
explaining that Biden does not have any plan to restrict red meat consumption.

Roberts acknowledged Monday that "a graphic and the script" from his Friday show
"incorrectly implied" that a 2020 academic study about meat-eating and greenhouse
gas emissions is "part of Biden's plan for dealing with climate change."

"That is NOT the case," Roberts said.

Roberts had falsely claimed on Friday that the study -- which is not connected
in any way to Biden's actual policies -- found that people need to
"say goodbye to your burgers if you want to sign up to the Biden climate agenda."

As Roberts spoke on Friday, Fox aired a graphic that claimed
"Biden's climate requirements" are to "cut 90% of red meat from diet,
max 4 lbs per year, one burger per month."

The graphic went viral online; it was amplified on Twitter by Donald Trump Jr.,
the Republican governors of Texas and Idaho and others.

But it was entirely wrong.

And the study Roberts cited -- which was published before Biden had even won
the Democratic presidential nomination -- was not about Biden at all!

Fox News hosts Jesse Watters and Ainsley Earhardt also 
pushed false claims about Biden and red meat.
So did Fox Business host Larry Kudlow.

Carly Shanahan of Fox's media relations department declined to comment on Monday
when asked whether these hosts would also acknowledge they were inaccurate.

By presenting opposite sides of story, Fox can pretend to be informing the public while still supporting a political position or ideology.  For example, anti-vaccine versus pro-vaccine.  But viewers may be confused when both lie and truth are presented together.  As the least trusted cable news source, Fox is one of reasons why most people believe reporters are purposely trying to mislead by saying things they know are false. 

Journal of medical internet research found that exposure to conservative media increases covid conspiracy beliefs and lead to masks or vaccines hesitancy.  But the consensus from public health experts is clear.  Masks, social distancing, lockdowns and vaccines save millions of lives worldwide. 

However Media Matters for America found Fox news has been conducting a misinformation campaign undermining covid science 547 times in the last 13 weeks.  Politicizing or dismissal of public health measures or covid data.  Unfair criticism of public health officials.  Attacking vaccines and masks.  Misrepresentation of basic facts.  Fox misleading coverage and false statements dissuade Americans from getting vaccinated and following CDC guidelines necessary to  get US out of pandemic.

president of the American Federation of Teachers, implored FOX NEWS
to stop spreading misinformation about the 2020 presidential election.

In society, the most honest people "should" be teachers, judges, healthcare workers and police officers because of job requirements.  In contrast, the most dishonest people tend to be politicians, sales persons and lawyers.  Sadly, journalists have become increasingly distrusted although honesty should be a job requirement.

Hannity couldn't control Geraldo & Bongino from verbally scratching out each other's eyes tonight. I thought I was watching something Jerry Springer would put on TV.
