This has to be - for me, anyway - just about the most profitable thread in my experience on Covers .

Hey Taurus I also agree with the alternate strategy that you posted in lanastasis thread
I'm not using that strtegy myself, Cash
just pointing out the possibility to the skeptics.
The guy has a damn good record zeroing in on favs and i've been playing a lot of his stuff- but not all of it.

I have actually employed the strategy that you described and have the Orioles tonight. I am mainly interested in doing it on the big +200 dogs that he does not take the heavy favorite. His methods seem to work very well and he does not shy away from taking the big favorite if they fit his method. So with that in mind I have decided to give it a try. Just started yesterday on the KC win and have the O's today. We'll see how it goes.

WEDNESDAY:
The first game of the second round of group games has the Czechs against Portugal - both winners in their first games. Portugal looked like world beater playing with flair against the Turks while manhandling them. The Czechs were extremely lucky to get a win vs the home side Swiss, and looked poor. Based on the first games, this looks like an easy one for Portugal, and the public has bet them up as an inflated favorite.
Not so fast. With both teams having a win, and the way it is set up, if this game is a draw then each team would only need a draw or better in their last game to advance. Im not banking on this alone - but I am sticking with my pre-tournament assessment that the Czechs will play Portugal tough. I am going to be on the Czechs +.5 (+113 now, but havent bet it yet, think it will continue to go up). I think a draw is a likely result. Prediction 1-1.
The second game has the Turks against the Swiss. I also think this game has taken on way too much influence from the first game where the Swiss looked good and the Turks didnt. Home field is a big deal, but not big enough to make the Swiss a pretty sizable favorite here.
These teams have history. The Turks and Swiss were involved in a playoff in 06 to get in to the World Cup, and the Swiss won on aggregate goals - but after the match in Istanbul there was a big fight. which turned in to suspensions and the Turks having a 3 game suspension. It was ugly, and I would expect some rough play on Wed.
Im going to be on the Turks here at PK and +.5 at +102. I also havent locked in to this one yet as the line is dropping, but might end up grabbing +.5 if it gets low enough.
