Anyone who says soccer is boring, just try having a bet on that game.
Once again, I consider myself very lucky to have won that- but I am also totally convinced that that was not the real croatia - or Austria for that matter - that you will see again. That early goal set up the tone for the game, and I have no idea why Croatia played so defensively but they better not do that against a real squad or they will be punished.
Final Croatia 1-0 -

I am actually really soft on Germany. Actually, it will be 20% of what I had on Croatia.
I do think they will win - but this is their first game - and wouldnt be totally surprised with a close win or even at the very outside a draw.
Im going to sit back and enjoy this one, but no serious money on it whatsoever.

croatia looked like sh*t after that pk. i was disgusted with their play and will not be on them for the rest of the tournament. i may not bet against them either since you seem to say it wasn't the real croatia or the real austria but god if you're supposed to be so much better than a team you shouldn't play so damn scared. glad i hit my bet on them for draw-no-bet, so i didn't have to sweat out a loss there at the end but still had to sweat out making sure i actually made money on them. good start van and i'm 3-0 so far with all three favs coming through for me and on germany for a little today too

I think that is a mistake.
Im actually a little excited about the Germany / Croatia game. If Germany win today, and especially if they win with flair - that line could be way overinflated and I will be on Croatia.
The same goes if Poland gets beat today - i think they will have a lot of value next game against Austria.
It was a strange game - and the normal reaction is "Croatia is worse than people thought and austria is better" - but I think this just sets up value in the next set of games.

I didn't deserve Croatia will have to take it though to go 3-0 with Spain -0.5 (-140), Neth/Italy under 2 (105) and Greece/Sweden under 2 (108) pending

Mondays Games:
Mondays games come from Group C, the most talent packed group in the tournament. One odd fact from this group is that Romania and the Dutch were in the same qualifying group, and France and Italy were also in the same qualifying group. So they are familiar and have recent histoty.
Romania won the qualifying group (over the Dutch) by only losing one game of 12, scoring 27 goals and only giving up 7. They have improved drastically over the past couple of years. They beat the Dutch at home and drew them on the road, and recently beat tournament entry Russia 3-0. If the draw wasnt so tough for them, they would be a great darkhorse to go far.
The French are loaded. Its easy to assume they coasted through qualifying because their talent should have had them doing much better than they did, but they had to struggle to the end just to qualify. They scored 25 and only let in 5 during qualifying, and beat Italy and drew with them on the road.
This is a very tough game to handicap. On one hand, the French know they need a win against Romania because the Dutch and Italians are coming up. On the other hand, this is the first game of the tournament and the most likely place for a minnow like Romania to make a splash with a good result.
I am going to be on Romania here +.5 goal +113 for a small wager, and will be biting my nails all the way through Im sure. I think the most likely result is a draw, but wouldnt be surprised if the French win a very close fought battle. If I broke it down to percentages, I would say 40% French win, 40% draw, and 20% Romania win - so combine the draw and romania win and I get value at +113. (Before some smartass asks me about the preciseness of those percentages - save your breath - this is more feel than science).
The other game will be a great one I think. Everyone knows the Italians can win any tournament they enter, and the Dutch are on of the most entertaining sides around. But the Dutch have abandoned their freewheeling style of play and now are concentrating more on winning 1-0 instead of 4-3, with good results in the runup to this tournament. And the Italians invented defensive football.
I see a very low scoring game, with a draw as the most likely result. So I think the Under 2 and the Draw at +200 are both good bets, but I will be on the Netherland Pk and +.5 (half goes on at a PK and the other half at +.5) at -115. I will also have a bet on a 0-0 final at about 7-1. I think both teams will be satisfied with a draw in this one - being that it is the opener of the group and they both have Romania ahead.
