canucks are sick, yeah okay, they the best team i ever saw,  better the gretzkys oilers, lafluers canadiens, and bosseys islanders.  right now they are the best in a watered down nhl due to salary caps.  parity has brought medicrity.  they arent sick good believe me.  though they have a good chance of winning the cup.  that said if you think they are sick you havent been watching this sport very long.

Dan Hamhuis - Most underrated D-Man in the NHL.. Not saying he's better than the ones you named but he is pretty damn solid on D..

For offense - Ehrhoff.. He's a good puck mover..

Of course we don't have a Nick Lidstrom.. Who has a Nick Lidstrom besides DET??????? No one!

Ok so we don't have 'an allstar' defensemen.. You don't need one to win the cup.. I'd say our defense is just fine.. Probably top 5 in the NHL if not top 3..

That being said I 'would like to see' a big mean guy that mixes it up.. Doesn't mean we can't win without one of those guys tho?

I agree that it is a new season come playoff time - but trust me.. We aren't just another 'dart in the pile'.. It does take a lot of luck to win but doesn't mean hawks, la, det, nash and nucks are all the same??  Trust me it does take some skill to win.. And it will depend on matchups in different areas.. It's not a crapshoot dude get real..

You can find weaknesses on any team. We are not saying the Canucks are up there with the Detroit dynasty or the Gretzky era at all... We are talking about the fact that this is the most complete Canucks team we've had since 1994 and overall probably a more talented one. I personally will be disappointed with anything less than a Western Conference Finals appearance, however I'm not guaranteeing a Stanley Cup.

I believe it's short sighted to look at not having an VERY ELITE dman as a main reason that we will not win the cup. Instead this team has probably the most balance defense pairings when healthy. With all 6 guys having the ability to log 20+ minutes.

It's like me saying that winning faceoffs is the key ingredient to winning the cup, and the fact that since we have Malholtra (2nd in league) and Kesler (10th in league) and Henrik Sedin (29th in league), we will win the cup.

Every team has different strengthens and weaknesses and this team definitely has the potential to go far in the playoffs. Will they... I guess we'll just have to find out.

One of these four teams Canucks, Flyers, Red Wings or Bruins win the cup this year.  Preferably my Bruins.

NIce adds by the nucks on the deadline

Chris Higgins and Max Lapierre, 4th line foward depth was exactly what was needed just need Edler and Bieska back by April and will be ready to roll!

I agree with those four. It's definitely either Philly or Boston from the east. I could see LAK (may still be a bit too young) or SJ sneaking in from the west. But the Wings and Nucks seem to be the front runners.

I'll take Bruins or Canucks to win the cup though! Obviously, I'd prefer the Canucks though  . My only nhl futures bets are the Canucks @ 8.5-1 to win $4250 and the Bruins @ 13-1 to win $2600.

If they ended up facing each other in the finals

I agree with those four. It's definitely either Philly or Boston from the east. I could see LAK (may still be a bit too young) or SJ sneaking in from the west. But the Wings and Nucks seem to be the front runners.

I'll take Bruins or Canucks to win the cup though! Obviously, I'd prefer the Canucks though  . My only nhl futures bets are the Canucks @ 8.5-1 to win $4250 and the Bruins @ 13-1 to win $2600.

If they ended up facing each other in the finals

As I've said numerous times Clepto, the Vancouver Canucks are a guaranteed L-O-C-K to win the Stanley Cup.

Ask the caps how did that good old presidents cup and home ice throughout the playoffs workout for them. The curse of the presidents trophy.

Oh yeah. I already have my trip planned back to Vancouver for early June. That is as long as the radiation from Japan doesn't get there before then.

geez flutie from bc and not a nuck fan? yet if we win u will be there hugging the 12 yr old girls. your hockey knowledge and assessment just went into the toilet once you proclaimed mtl to be canada's team. scoreless now in 2 games and the only real player of value is price.
u sir - ...just speechless. mtl canadiens are a joke.
also i am kinda surprised that canada has not backed the nucks. the only real hope to return the cup where it belongs - in our country.
most of you from eastern canada have not even seen a late night nuck game cuz u are in bed. most torontonians are leaf fans and not true hockey fans otherwise they would be tivo'ing real hockey played right here on the westcoast.
outside of bc to the rest of canada- back the true hope for canada's glory with the nucks this year, take a nap set your alarm clock for 12am at night so u can watch some real hockey and not that bullshit brand back east
    ciao

do they have any reason to play hard today? I want to take their TT over, but I am afraid they might not give a dam about winning or scoring. Opinions??
