You are comparing apples to oranges. Doing it behind closed doors with a wink and a nod is one thing, but bribing your coach with money?! That’s a whole other level. We are in Pete Rose territory now, especially when gambling is ubiquitous. I mean, what’s to keep an owner from bribing his coach on one end and telling his buddies or close family members to bet on the opposing team on the other end?

If there is any truth to the Flores claim about Ross, the solution is simple. The draft will be similar to the NBA in which no team is guaranteed the first pick. One of the few things the NBA has gotten right.
Now as far as hiring more minority coaches? That's an issue with no easy answers.

It isn't news that owner Steven Ross wanted to take advantage of losses. The real estate mogul hasn't paid federal taxes in over 10 years while reporting more than 447M in losses. It's not illegal to use dogs in your real estate portfolio to tank your taxes. Throwing games to improve your draft pick is another story. Maybe he'll have his lawyer plead that the NFL doesn't have a clear policy on not throwing games.
