Funny as heck that it was caught on a 3" piece of soft plastic. Of course you could have thrown that same lure in that same spot for 100 straight days and never caught that fish. Such is fishing.
When is a good time to go fishing? Whenever you have the time.

Tell me about it man. I use that rig for smallies kinda often, it's surprisingly effective. Patience is key when finesse fishing.
The best is when you hear about those guys who put on a worm and basically fall asleep in their chairs for hours then haul in a 40 pound cat fish. While other guys are cutting bait, using bluegills, shiners etc, on heavy a s s gear and won't catch anything for days.
They call it fishing for a reason, otherwise it'd be called "catching"

caught the biggest bass of the year doing something similar. was way out west, past rockford, at a friend's lake house on a private lake. for some reaosn he brought out an ultra light with like 6 pound test on it. threw out a friggin' jig with a worm on it and casted out while we used separate polls with lures to reel in from the shore. totally forget about this thing when i hear a zzzzzzz sound. the line was flying off the reel. i set the hook but was afraid i was gonna snap the pole or the line so i wrapped the line around my hand and hand reeled it in. wound up being a fatty 6 lber

My bud was pond fishing on the eastern shore of Md. and had a bass jump outta the water and spit the lure right back in the boat, i've known both these guys for over 25 years and am 100% sure they were not bs'ing me.They always tried to get me to go but i have salt and brackish water all around me and just never got into fresh too much.

I believe it was Dallas is 1-16 ATS and Straight Up as a home favorite after a SU loss. Had to do with Garrett being an awful coach because he can't get them to rebound. I'll try to find the exact wording to the angle but I do remember it from last year
