Finally we have some AFL...and tonight is the first game
Collingwood v Adelaide in Dubai
 
I can't see a line and I'm not sure if they will have one. I have played the Pies ML pretty big. Usually Mick doesn't care too much for the NAB but I'm sure that the location makes a big difference. With the major sponsor being Emerates, I'm thinking the Pies marketing machine wants a win.
 
Adelaide are smart but their conditioning will be focussed for the real season.
 
The prize money isn't going to make any difference to either side.
 
The Pies do have almost a full strength side. I'm not too sure about the Crows side but I think the Pies should win regardless.
 
I can't see too much for the NBL... but might find something later.

Adelaide Taipans over 209.5
 
It's in Adelaide and they should win. The only concern is the Taipans have been pretty average on the road. I expect Adelaide to hit the 110 so the Taipans just have to keep pace.

hey Hendy, I also thought the over in Adelaide game looks good! took the over 208.5, good luck.

The AFL game I might put a few dollars on for added interest but nothing major, I don't even have access to playing lists at the moment so might pass.  Don't take pre-season too seriously :)

The reasoning to take the Pies makes sense, it is afterall an initiative that the Collingwood Club made to play the game in Dubai given their commercial interests with Emirates.

Especially after they lost the TAC sponsorship deal last month.  I'm sure they will want to hold on to Emirates :)  A win should help exposure somewhat, might go along with you guys. haha

Adelaide/Cairns OVER.....NO

Will only go over if the Taipans roll over and let them have the game.  I think they can win it and if thats their mindset its defence tonight in Adelaide....BOL either way hendy and look forward to your AFL season....

I think Adelaide have to keep the pace of the game quick... Taipans will try and slow it down... but with Nate in the middle, Adelaide are going to struggle.
 
I have no idea why Adelaide sacked Smythe. I think it's unfair. If Newley played and they had Hodge earlier, they would have made the finals. How the sixers react is another interesting factor... but this is going to be an entertaining game to reward the sixers fans.

Adelaide haven't sacked Smythe, they have declared the position open and he is welcome to apply. While I doubt he is happy about it, he has said it is a smart thing for the club to do.
 
However, given this is potentially his last home game and he won three championships in his 11 years, I expect Adelaide fans will be out in force and Adelaide players will be looking to play their best for him. Hodge suposedely says he won't play for any other coach in the NBL except coach phil.
 
Someone on another board said darnell mee was in hospital after the souths game and black was limping after practice the other day. I couldn't find anything to confirm this though.
 
I like Adelaide and over.
