Won't this make GAblett a target by opposing players and why on earth would you pay for so much for an injury prone player ?

Further no way in hell GC want Nathan Ablett. They want him to lure Gary and Nathan will then end up spending his days playing in the reserves.

What does this do for punting. I expect Geelong to have the wobbles early season. This sort of thing is destabilising. If you want to pick Geelong to take out the flag at least wait till they drop on the ladder.

You could be right Binomial. Regardless Skilled Stadium will continue to be a fortress. Interesting preseason coming up.

G Ablett on the move...no way

Don't see Geelong being a force even with the above possibility.  Look at Ess and Bris in the last decade as the best sides along with Geelong, so the same fate will happen here.  To me this is just reality as the AFL is very competitive due to the draft and salary cap restrictions, thus the window of opportunity has now fast closing IMO.  The best they could have achieved from there 3 years of dominence was 2 GF wins and this simply happened due to their loss last year against Hawks.  We have to remember that Geelong were touted about 5-6 years ago as premiership favourites back then and never delivered so in short, that window has really been open for some time.
