Cycling: 2009 Gent-Wevelgem (Wed) & 2009 Vuelta al País Vasco (Week)

Paris-Roubaix is getting an individual thread as it's prestige.
 
Already have a play lined up in the Vuelta al Pais Vasco.
 
At the start of this week I'm up 55.76 units.
 
I may do a write-up tomorrow for this one. But probably won't have time. Pretty straight forward.
 
1 unit LLS to win @ $15
4 units LLS to place @ $4.50
 
Again like Paris-Nice. Even though Contador is in this and some other strong riders, this event suits LLS. There is no mountain top finish for starters. LLS is an attacking rider and a good descender and 2 of these stages have climbs close to the end which he will do what he is famous for. The time trial at the end will be the test.
 
I expect LLS to probably win stage 1 so if I can get odds for stage 1, i'll play him. Betfair don't have him in the market.
 
He is up against Samuel Sanchez, Sastre, Rogers, Kirchen, Lovkvist, Contador, Evans, Cunego etc. Cunego will be looking for Amstel Gold and La Flech Wallone. Evans sucks. Rogers will be fine tuning form. Kichen coming back from injury. Sastre not so strong team.

Sam Sanchez, Lovkvist and Contador are his main challengers.

Yeah, saw it on bet365 but you might enjoy the lines once Pinny has them online as they usually tend to have better odds everywhere on the matchup page. Not too fond of Australia's finest cyclist haha? Did you get a chance to read THIS article ? Quite entertaining.

Not a fan of Cadel Evans. Over-rated piece of shit by the Australian media and public.
 
Rogers is our best TDF winner. Not Evans. Evans is an embarassment to Australia with the way he rides.

I'm clearing that up. It's still a 1 unit play, but when sportingbet put the odds up they had him 21-1. Couldn't pass that up.

Now I don't think I will be playing stage 2. Or stage 3. I will be playing Gent next and probably Roubaix.
 
Sanchez will podium now - pretty confident of that; So will sit back and wait

Cheers. It was good how it happened. There were like 7 climbs and on the last one, a cat 2, Sanchez wasn'tin the lead group that jumped off the front. He was the next group back with some solid riders and caught back on the descent heading up to the final incline of the day. Then just powered home in a good sprint uphill.

Today's stage is way too hard. it features a cat 1, a few cat 3's and a cat 2 and the last cat 3 comes 20 oddkm from the finish. Could be a sprint finish. At this stage I'm giving it a miss.

I'm following you on Pozzato over Boonen @ 1.85, playing 4 units.
 
Adding 1 unit on Cavendish over McEwen and on Cavendish over Haussler, lines are out @ 1.57 and 1.60

Had the right idea. Had the wrong rides.
 
Martinez, De La Fuente and Monfort were in the main break but Monfort went in the break with guys like Rodriguez which was never going to last. Perez tried the break too. In the end the stage was won by Pinotti who counterattacked when the break was caught.
 
Anyway tonight. Team Columbia has had 3 wins in 3 nights. Boasson Hagen in Gent, Albasini on thursday in Pais Vasco and then Pinotti last night. Can they do it again?
 
Time trial tonight. Contador as you would expect is the short price favourite but I like Rogers chance.
