Jets have it all to play for tonight, a big win and they could collect the minor premiership. They have the worst goal differential of the top 4 sides, so would have to win comfortably to genuinely challenge for the title. Hard to ignore their shithouse record at home to Perth though, where they have been collectively belted 15-3 in 4 matches. Perth have height and pace which worries the Jets. Height especially as the Jets biggest weakness is their defense of set pieces and they are not the tallest squad going around as it is. That being said, I think the Jets break their duck tonight and beat Perth in front of the home fans.......

Jets coach Gary van Egmond said that if they win, they can press for top 2, if they lose they'll probably finish 4th. Given the fact that they currently sit in 4th spot, I can't see them playing with too much restraint tonight. If they are to finish top 2 they probably need to win by 3.

Nick Rizzo given a staight red for an off the ball tackle on Elrich. If the Jets were ever going to get a chance at this minor premiership, this is it. 1-0 up and have a whole half to attack a ten man Perth.

Did I mention Perths talls and Newcastle's piss poor defence of set pieces?
