You guys went through a similar thing when Gonchar was out 3 years ago right? Not even in a playoff spot, then you hired Blysma and took off, which I believe coincided with Gonchar coming back.
Montreal had a shitty record without Markov for a while until PK came along last year. This year Habs just had no defensive depth. Puck moving dmen are so valuable.
As for Rangers being a playoff team with Biron I completely disagree. He has a winning record but look at the discrepancy in the save %. Lundqvist has .932, that makes a .16% difference and they both play for the same team thus the same system.
Clearly, we seem to disagree on what stat to look at for goalies. Wins IMO are completely team oriented. GAA is all about the team and system. Save % to me, is most indicative of the goalie. Everyone is different though.

You love supporting Miller. His team scored goals for him last year in game 7 and he still lost to a team with NO goaltending. Id take a bunch of guys before Miller and Fleury is most definitely one of them. Guys that win big games win them for a reason

Actually in that game 7 against my Flyers the shots after two periods were 28-14 for Philly, which does not count 3 or 4 goalposts as Miller got blitzed behind his helpless Sabres. Millers team in front of him was so feeble they could not score a goal on the "team with no goalie" until 6 1/2 minutes into the final period after the Flyers had gotten over 30 shots on Miller and the score was 4-0. Philly backed off or Millers team never would have scored at all.

Let's be serious. Fleury is a middle of the pack goalie. Each and every one of us (including pens fans) would take a handful of goalies to build a team with on a 1 year run with (eliminating age questions) before we picked Flower.

I look at all stats and more importntly how thay may perform when needed in a big game. Save % is also indicitve of team & system. Who faces more odd man rushes Fleury or King? Quality of shot on goal against based on style has no effect on save %? I guess we will disagree.
