Anaheim Ducks ML -135
I had a very large play on the Ducks in their huge home win over Pittsburgh the other night and I will continue to back this team at home until they prove me otherwise. Anaheim is 4-1-0-1 at home in 2010 so far and they face a Nashville team that brings big time speed and toughness but that is struggling HUGE on the power play managing only 5.9% on the powerplay their last five games now. Anaheim better stay out of the box in this game because their penalty kill is nothing to write home about but having said that, both Anaheim and Nashville have had all sorts of problems killing penalties the last five games (Anaheim 78.3% Penalty Kill the last five games, Nashville 80.0% Penalty Kill the last five games). So this brings me to the point that Nashville has nothing going for them on the Power Play yet the Ducks have the best Power Play in the NHL over the span of the last five games at 31.3% in those games. That's going to be a huge factor in tonight's game and Nashville has allowed 3.80 goals per game in their last five games. If you can't play defense at home against Anaheim, you are not going to win against the Duck. Plain and simple. This is an Anaheim team that is averaging almost three goals per game their last five games and that has the best home ice Power Play in the NHL so far this season. Nashville is not playing good hockey right now and they come into this game 0-4 in their last four games versus Western Conference opponents. The Predators are having all sorts of problems scoring goals the last few weeks and they are 1-5 in their last six games coming off a game where they score 2 or less goals in their previous game. Nashville is also 5-15 in their last 20 games coming off a game where they lost by three or more goals and that's a good indication that this team struggles to recover from a bad stretch of games or a bad game. Anaheim on the other hand is 4-0 in their last four Sunday games and they are 13-3 in their last 16 games as a favorite of -110 to -150 so this is definitely their win range. The Ducks are a tremendous team to bet on when favored winning 22 of their last 30 when the guys in Vegas like them to win and they are 17-8 in their last 25 games when playing on one days rest. Nashville has always had a nightmare of a time winning games in Anaheim going 5-17 in their last 22 trips to the pond and I just don't see them doing any better in this one the way they are playing in recent weeks. Go huge with the Ducks tonight and you won't regret it. They managed to hold off the Pens at home a few nights ago and they are ready to win another game as a favorite.
