just announced this seasons Frank J. Selke Trophy finalists for best defensive forward in NHL regular season. Red Wings Pavel Datsyuk, Bruins Patrick Bergeron amd Blackhawks Jonathan Toews.
I can understand Toews BUT NO Penguins Pascal Dupuis? he was 1st in +/- this season AND is one of the BEST penalty killers in the league. Datsyuk is an outstanding overall player for the Red Wings BUT he was 9th in +/- this season while Bergeron was 6th. I can make an argument for the Rangers Derek Stepan OR the Penguins Chris Kunitz (who was 2nd to "Doopy" in +/-) ahead of either Datsyuk OR Bergeron. I think the ONLY reason Datsyuk is "in the mix" is "reputation"
