draft pick they aquired (and salary they avoided for Ranty) allowed them to trade for K'Andre Miller
And without selling the Farm for Mikko, they also had enough to pick up Ehlers in FA
One botched trade turned into two of your top scorers in the playoffs, a solid 4th Line Center and PK'er, Miller who is legit top 4 D whom they needed, and Ehlers who just makes shit happen in the game, and scored multiple critical goals.

Congrats to my boys - been watching them since last Cup and this one was fucking awesome. My old man (87 years young) was texting me and my Brothers last night at 11:15 PM, really excited to see our old team win a Cup. We all hated watching the Whale leave Hartford, but can't blame them. Carolina offered them everything, and the City of Hartford and State of CT offered them nothing. So glad they left, as at least the franchise could succeed, whereas in CT they were fucked financially and would never ever ever win shit.
